Space Essentials

Getting into space

• Most important: Space is lootable PVP with safezones around planets and space stations.
  Even for getting from a planet to its space station you need to cross this PVP area which pirates patrol frequently
• Sleipnir Series with Space Thruster attached
  You just need to fly straight up from a planet's surface
  Space Thruster decays only in the way of loosing 10 PEC in value when switching from atmosphere to space or from space to atmosphere. you will need a minimum amount of 20 PEC in your space thruster to be able to get off a planet and a minimum of 10 PEC to get on.

• You can teleport from a planet's space station to the planet's surface for 7 PED.
  (Please note: This service is not available the other way around.)

Costs

• Thruster decay when entering space from the atmosphere of a planet or other way around is a 10 PEC one time fee
• when flying into a planet the planet will charge the captain of the ship 2 PED to dock.
• Teleporting from a planet's space station down to the planet's surface is 7 PED
• Fuel consumption for long distance space travel like Calypso-Next Island is ~ 2-3 PED TT.

PVP

Except for safezones around space stations all space is lootable PVP.

Dying

When the spacecraft your are traveling with gets destroyed your avatar floats around in space. When you get killed before tp'ing to the next revival terminal the killer receives your stackable items excluding ammo and Welding Wire. You revive at the nearest revival terminal which can be on a space station or on a mothership that has you on the guest list.

You can either fly on your own using your own spaceship or travel by using one of the space flight services listed below.

Flying on your own

Secure lootable items

To avoid items being looted from you in case you are killed in space you can put them in planetary storage at a storage terminal. All stackable items that appear in the "Materials" tab and the "Mined resources" tab are lootable. Please note that these items are also lootable if they are located in containers or in the storage of vehicles appearing the the "Miscellaneous" tab. An exception is oil that has been added as fuel to vehicles. Here is a overview by item storage tab / item category:

• "Money and Deeds" category/tab: not lootable incl. stackable items such as PED stacks and deeds
• "Clothes" category/tab: not lootable
• "Armor" category/tab: not lootable incl. stackable items such as armor enhancers
• "Weapons" category/tab: not lootable incl. stackable items such as weapon enhancers and ammo
• "Tools" category/tab: not lootable incl. stackable items such as armor enhancers
• "Materials" category/tab: ATTENTION! All items in this category are lootable
• "Mined resources" category/tab: ATTENTION! All items in this category are lootable
• "Blueprints" category/tab: not lootable
• "Miscellaneous" category/tab: ATTENTION! "Materials" and "Mined resources" in containers and vehicle storages contains are lootable
• "Mindforce" category/tab: not lootable incl. stackable items such as Mind Essence and H-DNA

Requirements and recommendations

Spacecraft=

While you can fly through space with a Sleipnir or Kraka it is absolutely recommended to use a Quad-Wing Interceptor (L) because it's much faster. The additional speed reduces your time in space and thus the chance of encountering space pirates. It also gives you a chance to escape space creatures and space pirates. Make sure your vehicle has at least a a couple of PED usable condition left. You also might want to fully repair its Structural Integrity to survive more possible damage.

Space Thruster

Besides the vehicle you also need a Space Thruster attached to it. The Space Thruster decays 0.1 PED when entering or leaving space. As the item has a minimal TT value of 0.1 PED you should ensure to have at least 0.3 PED = 2 uses left on the item before you fly, better a little more.

Repair tool and Welding Wire

it's recommended to carry a vehicle repair tool such as the Vehicle RK-0 (L) and Welding Wire in your inventory. In case you are shot by a pirate or take damage from a space creature you can repair the Structural Integrity of your vehicle.
