Maybe you know from the EP Newsbot that the Next Island website has been re-vamped: nextisland.com On the website you can find a new release date: "play when we open on December 10th". And there are also several new screenshots: View attachment 404 | View attachment 405 | View attachment 406 |9 more on the wiki: Ancient Greece and Screenshots
Interesting ... I was told that the beta launch in Dec wouldn't be open to the public, but that current Entropians will have access first, then the media on Jan 5th, and then live the 3rd week in Jan I believe - I wonder if they changed their minds since they are advertising at their website that Dec 10th is the launch date.
Well I can't see why they wouldn't make registrations available if players are already in the game (the only difference I can see that they could do to make it "closed beta". I guess just what they mean is that they wont start public advertising until January.
I too had assumed from all that had been said that it would effectively be a closed beta, with only those already ingame able to test it. If they have now published a launch date and are taking registrations (new players) then clearly the dates given before only relate to PR campaigns and not the actual usage of the game. *though technically ofc this was always going to be a public launch since they didn't set up a proper closed beta (open only to certain accounts that had signed up for that), so even if they weren't taking new registrations on thier website, a new player could just open an account on PC or RT and take the teleporter.
I think it totally makes sense. You want old players who can handle pretty much anything MA can screw up (with possibly some whining in various forums) on your planet first to make sure everything sort of works. There may also be delay on next islands side on the planet being ready vs people who take care of newbies being ready.
