Read about one of the new features in the upcoming Version Update 9.2.

In VU 9.2 the next phase of the Materials system will be applied. In VU 9.1 the first phase allowed for textures from leathers, minerals, precious stones etc, to be applied to avatar clothing. In VU 9.2 this ability is expanded to all customizable items (C) such as furniture and estate decorations. In order to accommodate this update some changes will be made to existing furniture and decorations. All such entities that had a very distinct look, like 'wood' or 'marble', will change to a more discreet basic look. This will prepare them for materials customization, meaning any kind of material texture can be applied to them. At the same time, items that have a very distinct name, like 'Small Wood Table', will have their names replaced as the old name will not reflect the actual characteristics of the item after the change.

We are aware that this evolution will change the appearance of existing items but Mindark are striving to add new exciting features that allow for as much participant-created content as possible. We hope that this new fully customizable system will be taken advantage of to create a huge number of unique looking items. Some examples are shown below.
