    Hi guys.

It seems to me, that i can no longer play EU without losing my moneys. I was doing pretty well week or two ago, but then it started to go down. My loots went down, mining was awful, and i quickly losed all i owned.
Last saturday, i deposited, and thats when it snapped.

For wof, i spent all my moneys, for equipment and 10k ammo. After hunt, i went to tt, and founded out my loots were 25ped. Not enought to cover even my fap and amp decay. Now, 4 days later, i've losed it all again. Mining sucked, hunting sucked... It seems MA doesnt want me to succes.

Final blow was my last mining run today. With my last peds, i bought 30 bombs and went mining.. Quess what... 0 claims, im so happy.

Im seriously concidering quitting, and i hope you guys have better luck then me.

Now my ped card shows 0 ped and i deposited last saturday, so i cant get more money for looooooong time

    Anna

  2. I think everyone gets this from time to time, and most people do quit. Some come back, get disallusioned again and think about quitting.

I often wonder what it is that keeps bringing me back, and recent events with james have made me think of quitting again...

So never say never Anna, but yeah we know how you feel...

Well, ive put hundreds dollars in this game, and im tired of losing it. Every time i think im doing good, i lose it all.

    Very fun

  4. Anna we have all been there. My advice is find your self another game to play and dont play entropia all day that was my mistake dont get me wrong i have good days on crafting but they still cost ped's. So keep ur chin up and it will come when you least expect it Ask Una :-o

With ped did u have in game u don`t must always hunt or mining or crafting...why u don`t try some trade or u can do some services for another else and u got peds!! U can`t leave like this!! Nobody take big`s hofs so fast! Don`t be scare...just don`t deposit much money...this game it is just for loose, for who it is unlucky!

I've done that quite many times now. And when i come back i have 1 good day, then it allways goes back to losing. Im 15 years old, so i dont afford losing this big amounts of money all the time, so i think its better just stop playing.

  7. Last decision it is your, nobody can tell u what u have to do! But please...don`t forgot us :)

Well, i play for fun, not making profit, but its hard to have fun when i loose 20USD a day. And for trading, thats the other problem. I want to be ore & enmatter trader, but that takes lots of starting money, and when i earn 40USD month in real life, its simply not possible. I've also tried to co-operate with other traders, asked for advices, but they never want to work with me. It would be fun to be seller for good ore&enmatter trader, but its hard to gain enough trust, so i just end up loosing my moneys

Well that's okay. Is for fun not making profit but its hard to have fun when he or she loose 20USD a day a game or a musical instrument?Your purpose is trading that is the other problem.I don't see the difficulty. I'm not sure if I would like to try to co-operate with other traders asked for advices but they never want to work . What's it like? Why do you want fun to be seller for good oreenmatter trader but its hard to gain enough trust so he or she end up loosing his or her moneys?

  13. Anna: Ive played for several months now. Yes I deposit monthly and can hunt and mine the way i like but i still do other things that dont take much money. I regularly help new people with the game and am starting to want to take deciples on. I do this by going to Sweat camp with a high eco fap or vivo and train healing and offering help for TP runs. The runs take money but its not mindless grinding there is an objective and i find that i spend less time hunting while hunting along the way for a reason. I try to make my PED's last so that i can have fun. I am thinking of getting into trading as i am a miner but never had the taste for it. If you would like to make a few ped perhaps i could meet you and then hire you on as a seller. Just a few ideas of how to make the game be more then the expensive.

  14. Last time I went in to a rutt of losing a lot of money each day I changed my path. I put the expensive gear in storage, and went out with the bottom end BLP guns with no armor on and hunted low end mobs.

As a percentage maybe I lost a similar amount, but the costs are so much lower. It's not the same, granted, but it's a good way to gain some skills and pass time whilst in a bad spot.

And after a while the good loots started to come back.

  15. Good advice from Erach, that has been my strategy as well. When I start to get a little worse return from my regular hunting I step down a bit, and hunt stuff I can take down without armor. Also try to look up mobs that often drop stuff with a decent markup, this will greatly improve your chances of a good return. For example, I can't remember how many times Gradivore Wool has saved my Gradivore hunts (when it was up around 300% markup, now it's only TT food unfortunately). And I guess you have noticed how the ores and enmatter markups can save a mining run...?

It's also important to be able to stop in time. Don't just continue pushing in hope that it will get better soon. Take it easy for a while, and try again later.

  16. Hi Anna,

I know how you feel. Back in October November I was doing OK, losing but not a lot, I would play all day and lose maybe 50 ped, $5 getting a return of 85 or 90%, not bad for a day's entertainment. Then it went bad, I was getting may be 15% return, still getting the skills but it was expensive entertainment. The last 3 or weeks I have again started to be lucky, wish I knew why so I could tell you but I don't, so I can't!

When things were bad I spent a lot of time socialising, made a few friends and came up with some cheap games to play to keep us all entertained, it's amazing what you can come up with if you let your imagination run riot :)

Now I limit my hunts, win or loose. I buy a limited knife normally a scratcher 2 and go hunt till it's burnt out, that kinda hunt lasts between about 45 and 90 minutes. the rest of the time is spent chatting and joking.

WoF seems an expensive hobby to me, if it costs you too much then don't do it.

Hope you decide to stick with it and find a different way to play.

The very best of luck to you.

  17. Anna, I've experienced this many times in EU since starting in May 2005, and often felt like quitting, but some time ago the following thought came to mind:

In 'real life' if you want to make a profit quickly, you need money to begin with - what ever it is (it's only the ingrediants that change, the formula doesn't), but if you don't have lots of money to begin with, then you can still win but you have to adopt a medium to long-term strategy; which includes essentials such as networking, socialising, etc, etc. It's the same in EU.

Put it this way, very few ppl actually make a profit ever! Profit is what you have left after all expenses, etc, and when it is still more than what you spent - few people really achieve this.

    Don't give up...

A lot of very good advice and suggestions in this thread. As with most people, I do not profit here. During a month when I am able to deposit some $, then I run around and have fun hunting or mining, and probably because I have repaired my items and am using up a lot of ammo or bombs I sometimes find something nice in the loots.
However, the next month or two I might not be able to deposit anything, and so I spend time chatting, exploring, or using low level weapons which use very little ammo.

I think EU is whatever you make it for yourself. I have met some great friends here, who I trust and care for greatly, although I will probably never meet them in real life. It is always interesting to log in to EU, because every day something new has happened among people, so there are always new ideas/places/items/events both ingame and irl to chat about/investigate/explore.

EU can be as demanding or relaxed as you choose it to be, and it also seems to reward patience and time. There is nothing wrong with sweat gathering, chatting to new players at Port Atlantis, maybe running to nearby TPs with them. During those activities you are still gaining skills, and being noticed by other players which very slowly adds to your ingame knowledge and reputation.
If you can only deposit a small amount each month, look on it as a payment for entertainment, just like buying a movie ticket or renting a video to watch. The peds are all yours, so treat yourself to a nice mining run or hunt when you have those peds, and spend them on yourself, don't feel the need to use your peds trying to keep up with anybody else ingame. Hopefully you will loot something to help extend your peds longer, but when they are all gone, go back to simple activities, have fun and look forward to the next time you can deposit. You may find during the low peds times it can be fun to chat and get ideas or tips on tactics, locations, so that when you next deposit you can think, "Cool, I'm going to try this new location or idea."

Never allow other players, or especially yourself, to pressure you into feeling you must profit, or must have lots of peds to have fun here.

All this is of course just my humble opinion, and I wish you luck in EU and irl whatever you choose to do. :)

Oh, and don't take anything TalkerBot says too seriously. She is one seriously whacked robot. :hehe:
