Problems since very last VU

I started this in another forum but realized that maybe it was the wrong one, so I'm putting it here...
I logged on for the first time since the last VU earlier today (after the new files were downloaded) and basically the scope is entirely confused by a mass of horizontal lines and there are other odd lines beneath the chat window. Loot windows are also a blur when they come up and many features of my PI are uninteligible - never happened before this VU.
