  2. I'll wait for the English version, but what I got was deposits down, withdrawals up, but somehow they posted a profit.

There's a section detailing that they previously were wrongly advised regarding VAT payments, and as a result of a review, the tax authorities changed the rules, allowing MA to get 9.4 mio Swedish krone back due to having paid too much.

    Also:

If I read correctly, ComPet cost some 3.5mio SEK (400k USD).

Really telling how they emphasize the immense growth of gaming on the first page of their reports for so many years already and on the rest of pages admit that they are not part of that growth at all...

Anyone watched the development of the employee count over the years...

    But nothing wrong there...

Do I understand correctly that the little profit is mainly based on a tax refund due to erroneous taxation in previous years?

And do I understand this correctly:
    - net deposits into the game (incl. deed sales via shops) are 4 Million down from previous year?
    - operating costs are 12 Million up mainly due to increased marketing and outsourcing?
-> sounds like a great marketing success than... mature MMO gamers ftw...

Seems like a lot of employees for what little noticeable work they put into EU...

I dunno.... I think there is stuff going on but agree that for 35 people, there isn't the expected amount of noticable output.

Soooo.... how far can we take this nugget of information? Can we start to identify who these 35 are and what they do/what their job title is? Could people maybe chip in with who they know are there and maybe names of support staff from (recent) support cases. We could take a guess at some of the positions that they will almost certainly need too, like cleaner, server admin and so forth.

The reason I'm suggesting doing this is to get an idea of how many people are:

    a) Being Senior Management
    b) Keeping the Lights on and the show running
    c) Being creative

  11. a.) They had mugshots between 1999 and 2003 (30+ ppl)

b.) Check wayback machine, they search the C++ programmer since 2010 :p

Checked their job ad occasionally and found it on and off a bit. But yeah, might not mean much indeed.

  13. They have a lot of directors, managers, seniors, then those who sit on chair like chairman etc but nobody to work.
I'm guessing what happened with promised 5% coders increase... did they employed scenery artists and sound breakers instead?

I don't actually have a linked in account so can't access all the info on MA or some of the employees

Feel free to chip in with any names from recent support cases or other people you may know of who have been shown to still work for MA/Calypso in the last 6 months or so.

In other news... MA's take on TP fee's ;) http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?225692-Teleporters&highlight=

Mainly because I am interested in who makes my virtual home of the last 12 years and more importantly, whose hands it is in for the immediate future. Specifically though I'm interested in how many creative staff they have as this will allow us to guage the level of development we can expect for the foreseeable future

MindArk seems to be a pretty good environment for making carreers.

Dennis Antonsson made it from Software Tester to Test Lead to Game Designer to Producer in 4 years.
Justin Sorrell made it from Game Designer to Senior Game Designer to Associate Producer to Product Manager in 4 years.

    Gz, guys.

I know people with A+ degrees in Media Production or Media Direction with a specialization on games from German universities that have just made it to Senior Game Designer and Associate Producer after 5-7 years in business. :)

I'm not sure whether it's good or bad 'news' to realize MA actually has all of these: Several Game Designers, Senior Game Designer, Associate Producer, Producer, Product Manager.

Their output indeed seems to be a tiny fraction of what similar or even smaller companies like Wildcard Studios manage to deploy on monthly basis.

I also see a lot of former MindArk employees work at some well knows studios, like EA Games. So I suppose they are indeed a starting point in your career.
