We are told that NI management knows of this and are working on it, it just seems to be taking a while to fix. As to the problems - the database error comes up even though replies have been posted. Re-load the page and you should see your post. The problem seems to be that the database is not registering new posts, at some level, thus people's post counts are not updated and the no. of replies to threads remains at 0. The added effect of this is that the database does not realise when a thread needs to display a new page, so any posts beyond 10 (or a multiple if the thread was started before the problem) are not displayed.
and I have shared my above thoughts, as have others, on Next Island Life. We just have to wait and see when anything gets done. Hopefully unrelated, but I just noticed that the latest EP-newsbot post is not properly displaying the latest dev blog post by Meg, about the new mob for NI, Mutant Boar.
What's wrong with it? We actually had a front-page article prepared, because Meg notified us upfront, but the newsbot picked it up first. I merely edited things a little bit and added the slider image.
The front page item and the thread in the Entropia News sub-forum are fine, but here in the Next Island sub-forum I see this and clicking on the thread gives
Apologies about the forum issues. I've passed the problems over to our management team, and been assured that they're working hard to solve it. Right now, I post dev news on the blog Nextisland.com/blog, and Lykke and Peter were kind enough to share the Mutant Boar news on the main page here (Thank you!!!), and I'm sending news out to EU bloggers so our game world news can still get out to players, even while we're having forum difficulties.

Hmm. Looks like our Bookmarks add-on has an error. The author unfortunately doesn't support it anymore. I'll see if I can replace that with a paid add-on instead to solve the issue. Sorry about this, and thanks for reporting it :)
Not always correct. As I discovered - after several weeks of frustration - quick replies do not appear at all. You have to go to advanced posting mode or whater-it's-called. Then you still get database error, but the post appears. However, we can't expect everybody who tries to use NI Life forum to have the patience and sheer doggedness to discover all the workarounds. Even those of us who have such patience have largely given up by now and started posting here instead. Please post here, if you want NI community to actually read your posts. This problem, and several others have been ongoing with NI Life for 3 months now. It just isn't workable anymore. jay
All I can say is quick replies work for me, I've just posted one as a reply to one of the spambot posts, but the forum seems to be so messed up I can well believe it doesn't work the same for everyone Apart from that I agree with everything you say.
Sad to see the forum now taken over completely by spambots. This is what happens after it has been going for over 3 months. Torz
