  1. When I say X-Com I mean the unknown enemy, UFO Defence game not those other ones. I bought it on steam 2days ago and can't put it down, it is one of the best games i've played all year! ;)

I would seriously recommend it if you like a game with depth plus turn based stratergy. There is a new one out soon called ''Xenonauts'' that is pretty much a remake of the 1993 UFO Defence which looks slick as anything so I will link it for you guys.

  2. You might also like UFO:AI, a community coded project that captures much of what X-Com was... including that creepy feeling you get when you realize they've gotten around behind your guys!

I used to love X-Com. I bought a triple-pack with all the editions out a few years back. Should really try playing that again.

I'll be sure to check this out :) Thanks for sharing.

If I make top 10 games of all times list X-COM will be there.
I wish someday we can build bases in Entropia Universe.

  5. I played a few fake games to get used to a process of what I wanna do, got it on the 3rd out of 5 difficulty so now any mistakes i make i have to live with and not cheat by reverting to a younger save! makes it more cringe worthy when a good soldier dies RII.P :(

  6. I currently have a downed Interceptor and I can't figure out how to save it. It's not damaged, but it has 0% fuel and is sitting in Northern Africa. Is there anyway to retrieve it or is it lost for good?

  7. Is this game released yet? I can't seem to figure out if its a f2p and you can just download it or if it's meant to be a release.

  8. UFO:AI is indeed released. It's free to download, free to play, and can be downloaded from the link in my post.

I have no information about the Xenonauts game cited by the OP.

  9. I found it yesterday finally, it wasn't very well labelled.
Being honest my first impressions of AI wasn't very good. The UI and HUD is absolutely fantastic, easy to navigate and the research system seemed very good. The graphical fidelity of the globe was really awesome, the space dome with the sun and moon is a nice touch, however the bad part was the ground combat.

There is no fog of war, AI appear to be unintuitive not using their TU's properly even on hard difficulty, the guns have auto and burst fires which have the ability to obliterate anything facing you. The music, my god the music. It's not that it was terrible, I liked the music, it just didnt suit the game.

I think AI in general lacks anything that makes the combat tense, I tried to care about them dieing but the lack of atmosphere and soldier progression (from what I could tell there was no stats that can increase such as reaction timing only gun handling skills) just made me not want to play it at all so I think I will stick to X-Com where every shot makes me clench and every good soldier downed makes me shout football cries ''OH COME ON!!''
