    Hello!

The owners and proprietors of EntropiaPlanets.com, the single biggest independently run fan-forum of Entropia Universe, with thousands of registered accounts, and an annual revenue exceeding that of many small countries, would like to invite you for an AUA (Ask us anything).

Before we do so, a few ground rules:

    1) 1 question per account
    2) Please provide a picture of your passport when posting, in order for us to verify you are a legit person behind the account.
    3) No questions about politics, religion, other games. No questions about the forum software or our personal lives. No questions about upcoming changes. No questions about Entropia Universe or our activity. In fact, we'd prefer if you do not ask us any questions at all, really.
4-1) Making memes of us is strictly prohibited.
4-2) Making fun of us, our families, or anyone we ever talked to is strictly prohibited.
    5) No posting in other people's questions until one of the owners answers.
    6) It is up to our discretion to delete questions we do not like.
    7) It is up to our discretion to not answer any questions we do not like.
    8) We reserve the right to copy/paste the same regurgitated marketing answers to any questions you ask.

    That's really it. Simple, no?

    Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

    Best regards,

    The EntropiaPlanets owners and proprietors.

My question is about the inconsistency of your user interface. How is you thought that changing the control system of the forum would be a good idea? Specifically what made you think it would be a good idea to have some buttons do one thing when browsing one forum, but something entirely different when browsing a different part of the same forum. Also what was your thinking about not allowing us to view the forum from the front, only the back, unless we hold down the middle mouse button? Why is there always a white dot in the middle of the forum unless we turn off all the forum buttons, information and controls? Why is it when I try to view the forum from the front, without holding down the middle mouse button, it always displays the head(er) from the side? Also why does it keep switching sides?

  6. I like new update. Key binding (with all implemented new bugs) to lie on forum floor is really useful but some threads are too high and hard to read lying down.
Question is do you plan to develop command to read those threads in sitting position?

One question only. As a courtesy, we picked this question from your post:

Simple. We are trying to cater to a worldwide crowd, and seeing that some parts of the world read from left-to-right, where others go from right-to-left, we take a best guess and serve whatever site we think is appropriate. Of course, our AI at times gets it wrong, though.

But hey, at least we managed to get rid of the bug where it would randomly switch from one side to he other, whenever another visitor browsed close to whatever thread someone else would be reading, which then caused all the posts in the thread to aggro the new visitor.

Sitting position led to a great decrease in thread performance, and has therefore been removed from the forum. Also, the ability to type words, while it led to very creative occasions, proved to undermine the stability of the forum, as it had a negative effect on performance, and therefore, we also removed that feature. Lastly, we will soon add a random-word generator that will generate content for you, without you having to do anything. Simply click <f> (for "fauto-post"), and <TAB> to select the next post. We realize absolutely nobody asked for this, but trust us, it will be awesome, and seeing we will disable the old way of posting anyway, it's not like you fuckers have a choice.

So suck it, and better learn to enjoy the new features.

  10. After the long list of ass lickers (Skam, NightHawk aka Ludwig, Serica, Darkaruki...),
do you plan to join the mind-dark team or do you belong already ?

In all cases you should be rewarded soon by looting 900ped esi (SEE full) or rare valuable unlimited items, but be assured this is pure luck because we are not running a gambling game and we CAN NOT control what you get !

We should contact some TV channel to promote us. Some "random" player getting an ATH will be pure coincidence.

    * Btw, if all people know you've been exploiting the system with pills stacking to get advantages and steal the game economy, do a video to explain how you did and you will not be worried at all. If you are swedish we should even reward you !

Gratz to tell us on PCF you became 1st hunter in the game, but noone will understand it was by using this exploit :)
    Great video !

We thought this was genuine upto rule 3 ...

here is 1 question though (copy paste). op of q was san on ''other forum''

I would like to kindly ask to lay open the reasons and rationale MindArk had for introducing Explosive Projectile crafting in this particular way. What did you hope to achieve, was it achieved, and what internal or external factors would influence its future?

The calls for retracting it aren't ending any time soon. It is confounding and seen as damaging by many. However, there is little but assumptions founded by more or less subjective perceptions in the argumentation both pro and contra. Hundreds of posts have been written, this latest one sums it up nicely i.m.o.:

Please help us understand at last, to form a solid base for drawing conclusions about agreement or disagreement. I understand that a large portion of the allure of this game is that the community is left with figuring out its mechanics, but EP crafting is decidedly not a part of this and the uncertainty about what it's supposed to mean in the game's context is deeply unsatisfying.

    only official ma repky was

This question requires a more detailed response than we can present at the moment.

We will get back to this question next week.

do YOU this forum owners have a reply????

edit = I 'stole' the question from San from the other forum. Just to make that vedry clear so if any 'creditts to him/her

I never knew what all the fuss over Explosive Projectiles was (I'm not saying there isn't a fuss to make, just saying I didn't know what they were all about). So this intrigued me to look into it. TL;DR a set of low to high level BP's that make them using items available from TT so no markup or difficulty in obtaining, no entry point into the economy.

One of the things I looked at was this http://entropiauniverseguide.blogspot.com/2016/03/a-quick-guide-to-explosive-projectiles.html I like this quote:

"I don't recommend clicking them unless you are clicking them for using, and not clicking them to chase grand profits that don't exist. The ruined EP crafters I know are out as much money clicking them as would pay wages for a small town's population to survive for a year. And no, I am not kidding."

    A small town? Wowzers...

    edit:

"UPDATE: I did forget to mention perhaps the biggest reason why seemingly worthless UL rocket or grenade launchers are a small fortune in markup...

There are small spawns of small mobs that if you auto-use your weapon, it will keep firing, and if you have a auto-loot pill, you can safely grenade these mob spawns automatically and loot everything you kill, to effectively hunt without being at the keyboard.

Just don't do it on Amethera or wherever it is PVP zone LOL. Make sure the PVP icon is green, or flashing yellow, but not red. You are not charged for firing a weapon that doesn't hit a valid target in a non-pvp zone. In a pvp zone, your weapon will cost you with every shot regardless if you are killing something or not"

    Holy shit... O_O***

Ah... NOW I see the problem, people crafting £1.50 a click with nanocubes from the TT and getting £10k payouts. So basically people just roll up and do this all day and don't actually play the game or buy stuff off people who do. Of course most loose money though. Infinite supply of nanocubes, infinite amount of gambling. I suspect if someone shut this operation down that would be the end for MA. I'd imagine this is what is keeping them afloat.

I recently had a chat with Auktuma, who said that the EP crafting, with components being available from the TT gives gamblers a good option to do their thing, without forcing them to suffer additional costs from markup.

Personally, I think that judging by the markup of pretty much everything else having dropped, it shows that a great majority of the people who used to craft, apparently were gambling, as they switched to EP now. It's probably similar to tailoring, colouring, beautician, make-up, taming and what not; those professions pretty much were made redundant because of a lack of attention from MindArk, and so the few left doing these are doing it as a hobby, instead of as a way to make a virtual living.

And I agree with Wistrel. If EP would be deemed to be gambling, I'd wager that a lot of the crafters would drop out altogether, rather than switch back to crafting other things where they'd incur additional costs due to hunter and miner markup.

MA dug their own hole, and I'm starting to wonder if they'll be able to crawl out of it again.

I think the real horror of it that struck me (once I finally realised what this was about) was the infinite supply chain. While ever the gamblers relied on players to produce stuff for them to gamble with, there was a cap on the churn rate. With nanocubes being in the TT and the ped/click rate being variable from the very low to the very high, people can gamble at whatever stakes they fancy for as long as like, as much as they like and, thanks to the auto craft, they don't even have to sit at their computers to do it.

Out of interest, what do people propose the solution would be? (this feels like anything from the highly simple to the highly complex).

Ultimately it would be nice if MA could make a game where it isn't about grinding. If grinding could be eliminated, then skills related to normal play (as in any other game - i.e. a couple of hours a night say) could be greatly increased. Sure people who can play all day would have an advantage (although their bills would be higher). Less grinding makes less stuff available makes prices go higher but returns too. Suit a smaller player base etc... uhh economics. Complicated. But yeh. If they could at least start with the premise that the game should be about fun rather than grinding and work backwards from there, they might find an answer.

I suspect though the reality is that MA have few creative people left and probably just a bunch of people who are enjoying the spoils of the addicted gamblers in their unregulated casino. They probably don't really have much interest in having a nice game in comparison to the money all those nanocubes must be bringing in.
