Interested in where people are coming from. I also listed other planets that aren't online yet in hopes to have this information for when future planets come online.

I knew alot would be from Calyspo right now. And it got me wondering. Before you didn't have a choice to but to go to Caly first. I assume because we have entries from other planets that its not longer the case?
Serpentine Village, when it was full of aggressive boars and papoo who wouldn't let you get to the TP. Fortunately there were rescue parties.
Yeah all people start at the mindark zone now and there's some posters about the planets then ppl go to the tp and pick a planet and go to that planets starting zone. Really they need to put more info in the starting mindark zone like make the posters into clickable npc's with some real info there was a lot of lost people in the mindark zone with no clue which world to go to. Really nice some mentors there to answer questions now! Reeeealy glad mindark lets us in there now
Haha! I came in there too! I've suggested "I Survived Serpentine Village" on Next Island t-shirts, but sadly I couldn't talk anyone else into it.
Another New Oxfordite here. I had the choice of Port Atlantis or New Oxford and (knowing nothing) picked the latter because it was arty, like me. ;) Several terrifying days lost in the harsh wilderness of Amethera later, I was rescued and redirected to the bustling noobopolis of PA. Cheers! Miles
I would like to elaborate on this. For one, the "Starter Rooms" are being redesigned to provide individual experiences for the planet in question. (1 for Caly, 1 for NI and so on) Second, I do not agree with the giving Mentor players access to planet starter rooms. On one hand it's nice to have other players be able to give some direction, but in the other there can be misdirection. If you look at the way the planets are set-up, Caly has the most people and I can foresee new user poaching occurring. Not good for any of the planets with the exception of Caly. I have already expressed these thoughts to MA. So being a PP and spending marketing $ I want the players we bring in to go to NI... not to MA as a whole. Understand?
I know what you mean :). When I'm up there I abstain from giving any directions, answering only general questions. While there are great temptations of it, indeed, I see how bad that would be for other planets and, in the end, to the whole universe. Maybe MA should officially make impartiality a mandatory requirement for everyone who goes up there :)
but if they download installer form your site they start at the NI start zone not the Mindark one right? its the mindark one I was at ^.^
Thing is, most people seems downloading the game from the main site. At least Calypso's start zone currently is absolutely empty, while Mindark's is quite busy :)
Waves at all NI folks and votes on Softie's poll for the heck of it :) Been reading since the forum rescue/repairs and just wanted to go off thread topic for a sec to say I'm so very happy to see the beginnings of such improvements for NI, but most of all the new CGO and some REAL communication going on, well done and keep it up please! Worth noting though there is a boatload of confusion and misinformation going on in our universe about who the CGO is, about the NI 'team' only now getting access to any official avatars, about NI as a whole being 'sold' to some new people and claims of who those new 'owners' are (though Meg did post around other forums to clear up that misconception that getting in investors isn't the same as the whole planet/brand being 'sold' or no longer being owned by David Post etc. I look forward to the press release or statement that clears up as much of all these rumors as possible, but it is great to see a CGO (Community Manager/Dev Team?) on board and want to hear more. All together this makes me feel hopeful for NI again, and that makes me happy, maybe even a chance I can return for a visit again in the future now, I do so miss the beautiful planet scenery and the hilarious skeletons etc ;) PS, nice to see someone else agree with my feelings on the new mentor access to Genesis area, gives even more confidence in you CGO.
Welcome back Lee! Nice to see you on the forums again! Yes the communication has been great, will all that has happened since the new forum has been up its even given me hope that things will be alot better and I have returned to the island. Keeping my fingers, toes, legs, arm, and eyes crossed that it will continue to improve for the better :)
Exactly. Thank you for understanding. As a planet partner, we need to know that the tagging of players we could be possibly bringing into the game thru our marketing campaigns are being tagged properly. It is a struggle I know all PP have and will go thru until the system is fixed and is working correctly. As of right now, from the best of my knowledge, it is not.
