Ok. in apprx 30 min from now (10:00 a.m. Vegas time) the CES exhibits open up. Let's put on a good showing out there for our guests at the Next Island booth and show them what a "Class A" community we have here on the Island! Next Island isn't actually listed as an exhibitor at CES. I understand they had a presense of some kind however at the pre CES Pepcom Digital Experience last night, though can't find an official listing of exhibitors for that. Pepcom is a media event allowing digital demos to the media assembled for CES.
All i've found so far are news announcing that Next Island will debut at Pepcom, all dated January 4. I really wish someone would fill us in on what's going on :)

CES: Tablets, 3D surge, Next Island, last 30 seconds she talks about NI. Cleverly move seamlessly from the movie Avatar to NI :) On that note I was on a pepcom hunt with Tenacity and a few others last night, as she showed off NI. She said there where camera crews wandering around taking short shots of the all the exhibits, still looking to see if that hunt got caught on video. After all we all know my ego is going to get even bigger if my avatar makes it on T.V. :)
Indeed, nothing more than a passing reference in Great Dane's link, and a few seconds of Avatar game footage with the title "Next Island". But after all, she did say that it's launching on the end of January...
Well I have spent most of the day scouring the net looking for Next Island at CES, and aside from a few brief mentions didn't find anything. Does anyone know if there is a scheduled interview for Next Island? Off topic; I swear to god if I hear one more thing about tablet pc's for the rest of CES I am going to go postal! :)
I was thinking about getting my wife a tablet PC since her laptop is getting old, anyone know of one that would run EU well? narfi
Corey they aren't exhibiting at CES ( 2011 CES: Exhibitor Directory? ), they seem to be mostly just 'there', don't know if they did a demo as part of pepcom last night but NI owner David Post's wife is the tv personality Katlean Demonchy behind Nextpert News, and also involved in the PR of NI, so she is there doing her clips and apparently mentioning NI whenever possible. I suspect that is about it really, NI also has Meg who is a admin here who does web blogs and social networking etc for them, so she will probably get NI mentioned a few places as well, but none of this is anywhere near the same thing as exhibiting at CES, which many of us thought they were originally. In a way it is just as well, we know it isn't really ready for that level of PR just yet. Whatever else is going on, I will be ever so grateful when the NI team becomes more involved with this forum, and interacts and keeps the already existing community informed. All the PR to the trade industry and the public will lead those who bother to do thier homework here to see what is up with the community etc, and so far it has definately felt like we are mostly on our own here and not considered of much importance.
