Mineral sense

I am mainly a hunter (probably over 95% of my turnover), but have since a couple of years been doing sporadic mining runs to skill some HP and when I need a break from the regular shooting. Now this has brought me to level 30 Surveyor and the Mineral sense unlock!

Gratz! I wonder if having mineral sense means you have a chance of finding rarer deposits like diamonds or gold. Has anyone ever looted those?

 

What do you mean by diamonds?

Gold is not very rare deposit, you can find it with TT finder :)

 

Diamonds was ment partly in gest, but partly serious, because in the loot windows of earlier VU's, you used to see diamond-like looking gemstones around the outside... So I was wondering if there ever was such a mineral.

Contributing to the Surveyor and Prospector professions, that is what Mineral sense does, period. ;)

Finding "rare" minerals is as far as I know dependant on area and the gear (search depth, amps) you use. So well I guess you can say that indirectly Mineral sense helps, since it raises the professions I mentioned, which let you use higher end finders with greater search depth.

And yeah gold isn't as valuable on Calypso as it is on planet Earth :)

 

Ah, now I know what mineral sense does! All I've ever got though when mining is the usual crude oil, gazurite, iron stone, etc. Never seen any gold or diamonds :D
