Active Players - Accounts - Forum Accounts : All data here

Discussion in 'General Entropia Universe Discussion' started by McCormick, Aug 9, 2014.

  1. MindArks original plan in 2002 was to achieve 25.000.000 users within 4 years,
having 1.000.000 users online at the same time.

While games like Minecraft (release 2011) or WOW (release 2004)
surpassed the 100.000.000 (yes, 100 million) registered accounts by now, reality for Entropia looks different.

As it is (not that) hard to guess the amount of active players, Ill leave that thought to you. No negativity today. ;)

And if you havent forgotten, it is also interesting to SEE how forums grew in the past.
Or got split up...or got renamed...hence the "huge amount" of users...

Aww that last screen shot brought back memories! :D

  3. He did miss a few other language based forums and minor enthausiast sites, but the numbers added to the total are rather small.

Granted not everyone uses forums/social networks, though many if not the majority do register at some point in time. There is also many multi-accounts to consider across forums & social network sites.

Even without taking these out and including these in the total and then doubling if not trippling the total, it still drives the point home.

Last number heard was January 2013 (I think) when a potential PP revealed there were 20k monthly active players. I'd say the best possible insight could be gotten by using the CLD revenue to see how much Calypso is making, and use that as a base figure. Monthly active players doesn't really say much, if you don't know their average spend.

You missed the point, Razer. I am out and I cannot even start the client loader anymore since last patch.
MA destroyed everything I loved. So good luck MA with your shifted game and good luck to all old friends who are still in.

  9. MindArk are working on this part:
I have yet to see one update recently that has not been "gameplay breaking" and went Semi-Smooth ..
    (Meaning somewhat smooth).

MindArk and the Planet Partners strive to ensure a smooth and problem-free Version Update. Nevertheless, even after extensive testing some issues may arise after release. Such issues are often addressed via mini-patches directly after a release and in subsequent patches. If you feel that the possibility of encountering minor issues or bugs directly after a Version Update affects your gameplay to an extent that Entropia Universe is not enjoyable, please wait until the mini-patches have been released and any last minute issues have been resolved.

McCormick explains it BETA (better) here:

Always wondered where all the users on the ROCKtropia forum come from.
And do PCF and EF share new users? Interesting to see what the numbers are in a few weeks.

  14. Btw. Rocktropia-Forum changed from rocktropia.com back to neverdie.com in january 2014 again.

John trying to distract me ? ;)

Will update that graphic another time. :p

Some of the forums had or still have issues with spam bots signing up, not just a couple but thousands. So, carefull with the numbers ;)

Facebook likes are quite pointless. There are many many misconceptions regarding FB. It was much hyped by Facebook and by agencies living from running social media campaigns for companies... But most likely for 99.999% of the projects FB is a desaster. Just one example from within the EU world caused by a facebook social plugin on the website:

And there a comparable website with actually quite an elaborated social media stragegy ;)
    entropiaplanetsreferrals.png

So how to measure? Let's just say there are 15k to 25k active players/month, where an "active player" is someone who performed at least one micro-transaction in a month. But now what's a "micro-transaction"? :sneaky:

Players online at a time should be 350-650 (average).

    .

  16. Agreed Tass. But we dont have any other (realistic) numbers to work with and these are the numbers that everyone can see. I bet even MA is working with these numbers when going on "promo tour". ;p
(Because the real numbers arent quite worth promoting)

I know what you mean. Sometimes my Entropia blogs are getting (reffered from) clicked by visitors from very, very(!) strange domain names. xD

I can tell you that a number of the 5k of PAFs "members" there are indeed spambots. I haven't had a chance in months to spend time kulling them and only since changing to XF have I had the opportunity to switch on manual activation for every new registration.

Whats more, I see no issue with the forums being forthcoming about their proper member numbers and will happily share it once its all cleaned up again.

  19. I think it was before 2014 by a couple of years...? Infamous Q&A Session from way back that Neverdie deleted (or hid somewhere in his forum that is very hard to find) was on neverdie.com and my ol blog about it was from 2011:

    http://entropiarelated.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/qa-session-with-neverdie-studio/

full q&a from back then is on Narfi's blog... http://narfi-willem.blogspot.com/2011/05/may-2011-q-from-neverdie.html

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  20. Im just talking about the forum movemment itself :
    2009 - realityport.com TO neverdie.com
    2011 - neverdie.com TO rocktropia.com
    2014 - rocktropia.com TO neverdie.com

I used waybackmachine to determine where and when the forum was hosted.
It changed back to neverdie.com in jan 2014, according to wayback.

So 2011 could/would still have a change to be "used" on neverdie.com. ;)
    Thanks for the link btw.
