    Original announcement 30 June 2014
    Introducing Stable Estates

A limited number of Stable Estates will be made available on the Entropia Universe auction. These new estates will generate revenue through different channels, as described below.

As described in the Entropia universe roadmap published on http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2014/05/28/Communication-and-development-roadmap.xml, Pets will be released in Taming - stage 1 (autumn 2014) and the stables functionality in Taming - stage 2 later in 2014.

The stables will generate revenue for the stable managers by charging a small fee for services in the stables, for example, selling, trading and specialised training of pets. Stables will also be the hub for future Pet Battle Arenas and Controlled Creature Battle Octagons where all pet and creature activities will be held.

Stable managers can also earn PED by renting stalls to other avatars for their pets, and by providing specialised training only available at the stables. Stable managers provide housing and maintenance for stabled avatar pets, including food and energy. Better care provided by the stables will result in faster pet progress and better performance in competitions.

In addition, stables will have the ability to be upgraded with shopping booths, additional stalls, teleporters, terminals, visual additions and other unique features.

The Stables will be placed in strategic positions on each planet. Each planet will have the chance to auction these exciting and fun additions to the Entropia Universe starting on July 1 2014, with starting bids of 20000 PED.

Number of Stable Estates per Planet:
    • Planet Calypso - 6 stables in 6 locations
    • Planet Arkadia - 3 stables in 3 locations
    • Rocktropia - 2 stables in 2 locations
    • Planet Cyrene - 1 stable
    • Planet Toulan - 1 stable
    • Next Island - 1 stable

The stable estates will be implemented into Entropia Universe later in 2014.

Posting important info on Facebook sucks. Post it on a channel easily accessible for everyone, and if you feel the need to have it on social media share it on FB. FB, btw, is a channel where gamers are rather underrepresented. If you need professionals looking into your social media marketing just let me know.

Also, the approach to auction something in July with actually little to no info and plan to deliver it "later in 2014" is really 'suboptimal'. Why not implementing the estates first (incl all the functionality), then inform the public how the system works in detail, then selling it ???

  7. MindArk dares to announce taming once again ?
Why couldnt they wait for the end of 2015, making it a 10 year anniversary ?
(10 f*cking years!!! And chances are (very) high, that we will reach 2015 anyway (without any taming)!!!)

And before it is even introduced, MindArk already throws in various other ideas like the stable-deed
    with its glorious revenue ?

A web based battle arena with gazzillion features ?

    A compet app where cats&dogs fight pandas...and atroxes ?

You never fail(ed) to dissapoint me, in showing, how special you really are.
And I mean it, when I say special. =)

Stables auctions are over, gz to the winners. I hope MA & PPs will come up with a system and features that make the investments profitable.

Unfortunately I missed a couple of the auctions, if you know the lacking names and/or numbers please add them there: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Taming_and_pets

  10. Maybe maybe not, we might have ended up paying less if we new the specs. Now we can't complain because we were gambling while bidding on some vague idea :)

My purchase was a shared purchase from 4 avatars btw.

Since the number of stables per planet seems to be related to number of players/activity, doesn't that imply more stables will be added when number of players/activity increase?

Much like warp ships in space...
My (pure speculation) guess is that the just purchased stables are much much MUCH over sized for the current population and while in theory more would be added with increased population that will not happen any time soon.

That isn't to say that they don't have value... I have a warp ship, and just bought into the stables, so obviously I believe in the potential of one and have experienced the rewards of the other :)

  15. yes, but with the speed of MA that can take decades :-)

  16. To do list:

-buy whip (again) not "L" !
    -buy a brush (again)
    -buy nutrio bars
-rent stalls for my pet-deeds, which greatly would boost their performance...
(and stable owners keep in mind that you will have to provide tons of food & energy or whatever MA will come up with this time)
    -buy even more nutrio bars
-(probably will have to) skill my animals up (again)(?)
-"improve" my own animal taming skills
-realize that my pets will suck in combat (if ever introduced) as I wont spend 250$ in it
    -realize I spent/invested many PEDs on "something"...hum

But maybe MA will make everyone be able to tame cheap ?
    Just like vehicles.

Maybe we will indeed be able to buy (already) tamed cats&dogs&pandas, so that the ComPet app will actually make sense ? (these tamed animals would be imported from planet earth, or beeing recreated from their DNA...probably as an CDF anouncement)

I can imagine even more special moments, now that taming stage 1 is so close of beeing released (once again).

Autumn 2014 (23 Sept. to 22 Dec.) - Thats only max. 141 days left. Keep in mind that stage 2, the stables, will be introdued "later 2014". So probably only 3 months until 100% of taming.

Then again, pets will "only be released" around autumn 2014. No word of full functionallity.
And "stable funtionallity" can mean everything, from 10% ready to 50% ready. ;p

    My blog is ready... ;)

New profession! Geisha! With sub-professions in running events (already implemented), dancing (wanted by neverdie since forever), hair and makeup (already implemented) and playing a Shamisen. Only one problem, Danna's may find their Geisha's disappear into the floor when performing certain actions/animations. Additionally "Lying down" animation is due to return to the game just after NASA complete a manned mission to Mars.

You guys are braver (?) than I... I really hope everyone remembers the above sentiment when December disappears into the obscurity of memory and still nothing has materialised.

For example, anyone remember how animal possession/control pills were meant to show up in loot some months ago? We even had evidence MA had that partially implemented. Nothing has materialised since though and there is not a peep from MA that we didn't even imagine it all. No delay announcements or anything. Just a "Inhabit creatures? oh er... yes we.... ah.... are going to... GO ON HOLIDAY!!! yes yes that is what we are going to do, bye bye".

Not so long ago MA said there would be no point in bringing back taming in its original form but now they say they will "as a first step".

Honestly McCormick has said all I could say on this subject. I really hope the best for everyone who has bought deeds honestly I do. I don't want to see anyone making a bad mistake so I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

It just isn't a path I'd have followed you down. I'd never bet on a vague concept; Not even if you paid me. I'd rather gamble 20k on throwing a 6 in one go (and that is probably comparatively good odds!).

Tass I agree, too vague and bad timing with summer holidays and all... but it seems people still believe...

"Now who'd have thought, that after all, something as simple as stable deeds would save us all?"

    Not me no...

Spot on! Want me to do you an entry on asymetric avatars/clothes/texures? I'm pretty certain they aren't coming back

  20. I don't think most stable owner are dead set on 'autumn' or 'later this year'. The owners i do know have been playing this game long enough, and succesful enough to realize that in software development there are always delays, and the end product hardly ever is a good as you hope from the original ideas.

Personally i don't expect anything to be released for the stable owners this year (well probably an empty building to walk around in). So i won't start bitching till the second quarter of 2015.

Thanks for wishing us well, and i'm sure there'll be some frustrations with the introduction of stables.

Off course it's a gamble, but to me it makes a lot more sense to buy a stable then to buy a gun for 100k, and there are loads of people doing that.

The only thing that worries me is the possibility that a stable owner will have to do an activity to take care of the peds in the stable, with skills involved, or with a lot of work involved. It would take away too much time from my regular activities.
