You are entitled to your opinion however I don’t think this thread is the place for personal attracts, especially ones on that level. In this thread, I think we are discussing things which actually are important.
I sent a follow-up mail last night, and just saw a reply that at this moment they are unable to share further information, but that there will be exciting news coming forth in the next few weeks. I am trying to see if we can get at a partial answer to some of our questions, as that was what communicated before.
Actually, depending of course what's going on, it doesn't surprise me if they have been told not to share anything (if there's a lawyer on, that would be natural). I hope they will later, as they said.
I agree with Lykke. If lawyers got involved, chances are that SEE has been told that releasing information might hurt their cause. However, the fact they do hint at good news coming soon in response to our questions might at least dispel the rumors that they ran out of money.
Exciting news? I've had enough excitement already. Control of Calypso has reverted to MA. The staff that communicated with us has been liberated. The only excitement that can effect Entropia Universe would likely impact the player base in a negative manner unless the SDS expatriates storm the building and commit a coup. If so, I expect to see some heads on pikes in Twin Peaks come VU 13.0. I suppose the exciting news will be SDS pimping whatever platform they've glommed on to for their remaining partners, Universal Monsters and "Planet" Michael.
Just a thanks to EP for at least trying to get some information, really it is in MA's interest i think to do so to restore dwindling confidence. Just to say thankyou again and by no means was "beuller?" aimed at you guys, but the general situation. :) Dibs
Sadly I sadly predicted something like this would come along time back. I always wondered how MA would make out with 3'rd parties that were not ND...Outside 3'rd parties would actually expect results more than promises. I hear people saying SEE "could not” make the second payment....what if it's "would not" instead of “could not? Would not and Could not makes a big difference. ;) I expect courts, and lawyers and all kinds of shitty stuff in the future...unfortunately. I'm not happy about it, but I'd guess the troops are massing on both sides and barring some out of court settlement, we'll SEE more than we'd like to in the coming months. I would expect the deafening silence has alot to do with what's coming down the pipe. Fasten your seatbelts folks...I think it maybe a bumpy ride.
the exact text reads: which my translator converts to: SEE has after this payment not can follow it arranged betalningsplanen [payment plan]. im sure for the Swedish speakers its easy enough to tell the exact context and meaning, so leave it to them, but "can not" is clear enough in English. they could have used the more ambiguous "have not" which eliminates would/could differences, it neutral statement of fact, if indeed that works in Swedish.
Well, it does say that SEE didn't follow the arranged payment plan - but whether this was intentional or not, it doesn't say. If SEE decided not to pay any more because (and this is ONLY an example because I don't know) they didn't get what they paid for - then the line would have been the same.
I don't think it will much of a "fight", they have or will probably end without to much "fuss". Could not or would not, what's the diffrent? They broke an agreement anyway. They are pretty stupid of they didn't know what they bought?
Possible scenarios: MA promised (contractually) to implement systems needed for SEE's planets but missed a couple of due dates so SEE missed something too... SEE gained a detailed insight into MA's/EU's financial situaton and decided not to try to feed a dead horse... Those are quite different from: SEE didn't get a loan from banks
To be honest, i don't think it MA fault, feels like it a too short time period to be something like "MA didn't deliver", because SEE pretty much directly broke the agreed payment plan. But i agree i could be a combination of SEE are short of money and they got more understanding of EU, but thats not MA fault. SEE should understand what they buy and have the money to pay for it.
Considering SEE informed us they will have exciting news, I am guessing this will be then signing up with another platform provider. I am having a hard time seeing that happening if they are short on money.
Well, it could be that they don't have the money too both Calypso and the MJ planet. Maybe they gave up Calypso because thet could not afford both. Maybe we will know more in the future, or we will never know.
*shrug* The exciting news about them coming to Calypso came after the dissapointment that was the Trek Exhibition by SEE. The host site (the Queen Mary) siezed the tour assets for unpaid bills at their venue. SEE's financial backer bought the thing out of hock, and IIRC SEE was out of the picture after that. The exhibit is still operating, just no SEE.
It does seem a little strange that the SEE website has not been updated with the loss of MA as a planet partner, escpecially if they made this decision in March.
