I had the same experience. The web-page simply bumped up, and the Epic launcher threw an error. I tried a few more times afterwards, and eventually it worked for me.

  9. Maaaan, Eye of the Beholder.... :'D

Only Lands of Lore by Westwood was able to suck me even deeper into such games.

If you need a break from whatever else is happening in your life, Pathway is currently free in the Epic Stopre.

  11. PAthway looks a lot like "Cannonfodder 2" back in the days @_@

Aww it looks cute (and indeed reminiscent of Cannon Fodder iirc). I like the idea of a wilderness adventure. Is the epic game store some sort of program you need to run on your PC like Steam? or is it just another thing you simply sign up to like Gog or humble bundle?

    Cheers for answers

It is a stand-alone client. I primarily use it for the free games, though had it preinstalled after getting some deals through Humble Bundle.

  14. It's got a website and the client, but the client is free. Also, they do a free game every week starting on Thursdays... Some weeks it's multiple games but not too often. Best 2 games on there recently has been GTA V and Assassins Creed Syndicate but you never know what fun little game will show up next...

Another nice little thing I've recently started fiddling with is xbox cloud preview... it's a way to play xbox games on android devices. The free option on that thing only gives you something like an hour a day, but still pretty neat... interesting way to 'test' out various games before you choose to buy them etc. If you have an android tv device you can sideload it on there. Otherwise just play it on cell phone or whatever android device you got. For that to work you have to sign up for the program and wait for them to send you an email. I think they are sending out emails fairly quickly these days but it could take a few days to get approval email.

It'd be nice if Stadia had a free option but it only has a trial option.. hate those type of things since once they get you hooked in they'll start charging credit cards, etc. because most folks forget to unsubscribe...

hmm... it's a sad state of affairs but I'm a bit over subscribed for games, last 2 years I looked at Steam and asked myself "will I play that before the steam sale NEXT christmas" and the answer was mostly no. Case in point it will be years till I have cause to move to a Switch because I'm still playing 3DS games... and some of those are actually DS games! And of course there is already GoG and HB that don't need clients. So I think I don't feel encouraged to get another bit of software even if they are giving away games. My old housemate left GTAV for PS3 behind (he got a PS4) and I've still not given it a go yet.... I should do... I mean, I used to enjoy GTA 1, London and 2.

  16. GTA 1 and London ftw.

Though, I cant wait to play GTA VI ^^

    And PS5...and Xbox...and...so on

GTA V is easily one of my favorite games ever. I bought it the day it came out on PS3. I lost both the PS and the game in the divorce, so I bought it again when I had the financial means to do so. And on PC, too. It's just a fantastic game, and I haven't even tried multi-player yet.

That (ARK) would have been one that miiiiight have convinced me to sign up (tends to be quite a lot that one normally). I've seen vids of people having fun in it and it looks nice.
