I'm afraid thre will be more opportunities for posting this...

If I were online when the system launched the first I would have tried is buying 500,000 Deeds for 0 PED, because MA is MA and you'll never know...

Reminds me of that that time someone handed me £4000 in PED after I "had some fun" with negative numbers (don't worry I closed the trade and told them about the terrible mistake they almost made - unfortunately for them, I was the first "honest" one, they'd already lost thousands...)

Yeh I think that one is the one I found after some uber had gone through. So I had a lot of fun and got some cool pics. Alas later the mobs came back and I had no more hope

What happens if you set the counter 1 higher than the number available and pay 10 ped? ;)

What a farce. Why would anyone still rust these morons ever will manage to get it right? I'd hate to be in @Darkaruki's shoes now. You move from your home country to Sweden to join these muppets. And this is how their first release goes. How fricking difficult can it be?

  8. My bet is on an inside trade. Some swedish loyal patron "bought" half of the shares, but didnt really pay for it.
Im sure Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) will inform us asap. ;D

    https://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2014/07/04/ComPet-app-deeds.xml?

Now everyone is scared and buys at least 10 or more shares, because all shares could be gone soon... x'D

Its those addicted, blind ones, that will suffer from this PR stunt once again...and they will do again and again and again...the human nature is quite interesting, when it comes to repetitive, incorrect decisions, dont you think ?

I can't figure out for the life of me what the long-term plan with this is. This system doesn't seem to offer any real benefits to MindArk. If they now own CP, they must have purchased it from Buzz. Even if we assume Buzz sold it for a very friendly price (Let's say 250k USD), the amount of money they raise with the CP deeds/shares is not going to be substantial. 250k USD perhaps, if Buzz felt particularly generous towards MA?

They do not really stand to gain from the system in other ways either, because all it'll do is move PEDs from players to other players (shareholders to LA owners). The only real thing they achieve is keeping the new shareholders more invested in the game, as they stand to gain from their shares, and thus will be less likely to quit.

250k isn't much, in the grand scheme of things. Especially not if you take into account the amount of employees MindArk has, including a completely and utterly worthless management layer (and board). It won't bring in new players. It probably only serves to retain the already addicted existing players (and then only the portion that already planned on being involved for the long run, as the ROI for this CP Sale is 10 years, give or take a few months).

What's the long term goal here? Judging from the tone even on PCF, the amount of long-term players selling out seems to be pretty consistent, probably primarily due to MA's piss-poor track record of releases. Barely usable systems are being launched, requiring reboot after reboot to get right. Systems are drastically changed, without providing any noticeable benefit. Countless bugs still make the game feel like an alpha experience. Heck, my entire PC gets noticeably louder every single time I start EU, even with the game on crap quality visual settings. The engine change was 10 years ago, and switching would require a substantial amount of cash (more than 250k). Most recent releases have minimal content update. There's barely any insight into what might be coming next, other than the umpteenth Mayhem events.

What the hell is the long-term plan, Henrik? Or perhaps we should just plain out ask Jan. Jan, the man with many a failed plan.

Fair enough, San. I'll fully admit that I might not be the most observant person in EU anymore ;)

So why on earth would MA spend so much time releasing a system that doesn't benefit them in any way, shape, or form?

Maybe it does? Perhaps in ways not immediately obvious to the less observant. I also don't know more but find it reasonable to assume that they do have a motivation. And how do we know how much effort it was? Maybe not that much since I don't see a very complicated system here. But this is all just speculation about other people's problems. What counts are the results and they will reveal themselves.

  13. I expect this system to be used across the universe

How long before Planet Cyrenehas shares sold by the developers? Planet Arkadia?

Even Mindark who now owns much of if not all of Treasure Island will likely sell off via this share system.

I seem to remember buzz wrote a long post on PCF about this. In short he wanted to sell it to someone, then realised he couldn't, asked MA, MA said.... er buyer has to go through us, buzz told buyer, buyer had hissey fit, everyone scratched heads and wondered what to do, then the idea of flogging it as shares came up so that's what they did.

I think all we really need to consider is that it is in MA's interests that stuff can be bought and sold (can you imagine the bad press if buzz wasn't allowed to sell it?).

As for the share thing, probably they felt it was an easy win, the UI is repurposed, the weekly cash distribution is repurposed, it's just a case of plugging different bits of code together to get a "new system". They may have some ideas on how the share system could be used in future, they may not. They probably just thought it was a worthwhile bit of speculative content to have in the tool box.

I don't thnk it warrants any more investigation or thought than that

  15. Yes, there are people still "observing" Entropia...and then there are people, who realized long ago, that this turned into a simple scam,
where the main game no longer gets any attention by the develeopers.

Sure there is motivation, when you are able to keep using simple ponzi-schemes on your loyal patrons...again and again. x'D

I think it is wrong, to support greeedy a$$holes, that keep using repetitive lies, to easily get your money.
But each to their own. :)

If someone doesnt realize the above, hes either :

    -rich and doesnt care
-a noob who read his 1st Entropian PRG-gag, without doing any further research
    -blind and ignorant
    -just an addicted gambler

Really, it is as simple as that.

To everyone who still thinks this is just the opinion of a "grumpy old gamer who became fed up with ao online game"...go and try to think again. I know its hard at times facing the truth...but its always a great step forward.

And now go and take your kids through college... ;) or buy diamonds in your mobile game, for 50 Euros, to be able to reach level 2 faster...

    ALL GONE!

I think Bridgitte put it rather well:

[Rookie] [Bridgitte Sedai]: so the people playing this game have the financial power to spend 500k $ in 1 day and a half lol

  17. LOL

Its a group of (internal) resellers, that will rape all of you again in September, when, according to Mindark, you can sell the shares to other players...shares, that have a good chance to become worthless until then.

Good to know Mindark has to prepone this date now, to be able to rape their loyal patrons a third time. :'D

Another PR-gag, another simple ponzi-scam, that will end up in a dozen of payed "interviews"...full of positive words. xD
And noone cares how it actually happened...it just happened. As always.

Another PR-gag, that will make the fanboys get wet...there is hope again...Mindark now has the money to improve this game...yada yada...this show is beyond embarassing for years now...but I still enjoy the people supporting this show. GO ! GO ! GO ! You have the PEDs ! ^^

what do you mean internal resellers? You mean MA staff bought the deeds?

All gone? Ingame and in the webshop?

Crazy. I would have bought 100 too to track the development.

But as an investment shares of a virutal company owning virtual rights for a virtual object in a game that might have or not generated ~10% ROI in past is totally nuts, you can easily get higher ROI with very secure investments in the real world.
