I have no problems to grab EU content so far. I tested it a few minutes ago.

And again, I got the permission by MA to do this for private purpose.

Yeh we know about the permission. Jamira right now indeed nothing has changed so the grabber should still work. There was talk of the end of direct x 9 though in the run up to christmas so I do wonder if you might be on a time limit unless the grabber works with dx 10/11/12? (is there a 12?)

Regarding the hangar grab, I guess you planning on taking a wander in VR right? The Hangar is defo a cool one to look at in VR. They are very big. One thing I plan on trying if I ever sort out the driver switcher is to jump in the side of a helicopter and have someone fly me around.

Regarding the Hangar model, any sign that the roof was ever closable? The demo'd this in a video once. I'm guessing it it was, the geometry would still be there?

;-) You know about the permission. Others won't. That was the reason to mention it again.

Yes, the roof of the hangars were prepaired for open/close. I posted it somewhere else already:

And no, Sony told me that it's not possible yet to bring my own 3d-models to PS VR. I hope this will be changed in near future.

Hey Jamira thanks! Yeh I guess it is always worth mentioning it when you post these things. Indeed people come from all over. I must have missed the closing thing. That's great to see although disappointing that they never included this functionality in game. As usual MA forgot that last 5%. Sigh...

Well, MA missed to implement functionality at all for the hangars if I remember right. What are they good for? Seriously, who cares for the open roofs? I have to admit, that I remember the first video of a hangar with an opening roof and thought by myself: "Finally they did it!" The old hangars never opened.

I just checked after thinking "surely not?" but yeh it wasn't too clear from the vid I had but indeed it did look like, although the ship went up on a ramp, the roof didn't open. I guess the ship just ghosted through the ceiling somehow?

At least in the past we had some guarded runs to hangars out there in the wilderness for noobs or less skilled folks. Sometimes it was an adventure. No TPs at the hangars! No vehicles!

So I was actually playing Entropia for some hours last night and over the weekend. Of course "playing" is by Wistrel standards. So some time was spent initially clearing inventory when I found some chap buying a lot of my unusual (esp. in 2.0) loot. This got me a bunch of new ped (AUD/CLD's still just amassing value).

Anyhow I then went back to trying to do one of the "go to n diffferent coordinates" missions I was on round the Volcano. I have a particular way of doing these things. The thing is, to simply fly or drive is too easy. Plus you miss that sense of exploration. So I always take the shoe leather express and maybe drop a few noob probes along the way - just generally enjoy the wandering around, take a few pics etc.

There is an issue though, some of these cameras are in places where it is really hard to get to because of the mobs. I like that there are ways round this if you use your head. Like climbing over a mountain to avoid a narrow path that is filled with eviscirators or maybe shooting a mob then legging it in a car to get the mob to move out of the way. I like to use the vehicles as tools to help with the on foot exploration rather than a replacement for it.

Yes I am weird I know, most would simply TP themselves in or use a vtol. Myself I try and avoid that if I can although sometimes I put a threshold on the difficulty and and use such tricks as a last resort.

I guess I'm just a sucker for making things difficult for myself. I also tend to imagine that hopefully the creator had designed the mission that way, i.e. that you weren't supposed to merely leap frog over the content. I guess it is like FAQ'ing unnecessarily. If you didn't want the puzzle to be difficult to solve or take too long, then why waste money on the the game in the first place?

Like everything there is a time and a place for FAQs. But I like to reserve them for things like (imho) badly designed UIs or poor implementation or for where it is getting silly how long it is taking and I feel I am more keen now to progress with the game than the puzzle.

    Anyhow, this is just me.

PS something I would happily see more of in game is environment damage. The addition of fall damage has made climbing SO much more fun in game. For example last night while navigating a tricky cliff walk to avoid an evisirator corridor, I made a poor choice and fell down a gorge. The gorge was too steep to walk out of at one end, had a sheer cliff down to the corridor at the other and the sides were too steep to climb. Additionally the ground was too steep to spawn the vehicle! I was well and truly stuck. I toyed with my options, considered #CRT even for a bit just in case they were up for a helicopter rescue comedy, but in the end went for the cliff option. I JUST made it. I took 101.6 damage and my hitpoints are 101.8 !!!

Anyhow what I'm getting at is that enviro damage is interesting and gives the dev's tools to create conceptually more interesting navigation paths. Unfortunately MA are still at the "I'll throw up an invisible wall to solve a problem" level of education regarding this. They could do all sort though if they started introducing stuff like wind that slows you down or terrain you can't use a car on (puncture?) would be nice to have maybe heat damage or something like that too. This would make "finding a way" all the more fascinating but ah well. I'm sure pissing about with blockchain is a much higher priority.

edit: with, loot 2.0 being about total cost to kill a mob, they could totally do this too. Say you needed a buff to hunt a certain area, this could now be factored into the returns. Ahh... so much potential so little available development resources.
