1. Can someone explain this to me. I have always been under the assumption that using an amp on my gun increases its eco and therefore makes it cheaper to play. Is this correct. For example if I use a Caly Spirit III and a beast amp, then the beast amp costs me 120 peds to repair and makes me use more ammo on my gun. Whilst I accept that the mob is often taken down in fewer shots does the extra expense of amp cost of repair plus extra ammo used make it worthwhile to amp.

I guess this boils down to, "to amp or not to amp - that is that question "

You would be mad to not amp, more dps = less fap/armour decay.... it really does add up to alot of peds over a long period of time. I used to put peds in my storage to repair amps so for a 1K ped hunt (to offset the shock of repair costs at the end of a hunt) 300 ped would be put aside for amp repairs so I used to take the remainder - 700 or so in ammo.

depends on your definition of cost to play and what sort of math you want to use.

(all theoretical figures on 1k hp 0 regen mobs to make it simpler)

    Gun - 500ped per hour - 2.75dmg/pec = 137500 damage = 137.5x 1k hp mobs killed = 3.63ped per kill
    Amp - 250ped per hour - 3.25dmg/pec = 81250 damage = 81.25x 1k hp mobs killed = 3.07ped per kill

put them together and what do you have?
    750ped per hour - ???? = 218750 damage = 218.75x 1k hp mobs killed = 3.43ped per kill

What you do with that info will depend on what you believe about loot theories.
    1. Do you blindly believe in 90% of offensive cost regardless of all other factors including eco?
    2. Do you blindly believe that each creature will give the same loot regardless of cost to kill?
    3. Do you believe the system is more complex than those two simple extremes?

Do you only care about solving for x? - Deposit per month = x , x = loss per hour after markup * hours per month

    Consider these options,
Gun 1000ped per hour (with or without Amp @ 500ped per hour) - same eco standard
Gun 500ped per hour (with or without Amp @ 250ped per hour) - same eco standard
Gun 50ped per hour (with or without Amp @ 25ped per hoour) - same eco standard

    In these scenarios,

90% tt returns and no 101% average markup
90% tt returns and 150% average markup
105% tt returns and 101% average markup
70% tt returns and 101% average markup
70% tt returns and 150% average markup

Which setup is best for which situation?

Now consider this alignment of the stars,

    1 kill 50,000x tt multiplier

What do you believe will happen when you hunt?
Do you find enjoyment from slow loss or profit, or do you find enjoyment from the thrill of gambling on huge losses and profits?

Assuming a TT+MU loss however slight that may be, lower output = less depos per month.
Assuming a TT+MU loss however slight that may be, higher eco = less depos per kill. (of same size mob)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  4. I just wish I understood maths better :lam:

Amp is better as long as you use a finisher (where appropriate - typically not required with regenerating mobs)
Dont spend so much on an amp that it cuts down on your ammo amount (For example I prefer to own 2 x A104 and Ammo money vs 1 A105) I appreciate this is 'Laser amp speak' Kat, but I dont do BLP. :tongue (2):

Use blades without amps. Just to get a better feeling ;-)

Well, nearly unique (1/2) Lion Armor (F), the best UL Niflheim ingame and kinda FAP 90 (? - can't remember). Most famous Atrox hunter of all time. Always see the white in the eyes of the enemy. Return ~96%. Any questions?

    Just one.

Why did you quit with 96% return? A lot more than I ever achieved with Atrox thats for sure!!!

ps I think Atrox have red eyes :p

Answer is easy: MA pissed me off with apartments, clothes, makeup and such things. But the most annoying messup was destroying this cities in the north: Fort Argus and Fort Zeus. I once spent a lot of time there with friends and strangers as well. Those were the good times for me.

And tbh: 104% loss of ~250 Euro per month isn't that great.

You should immigrate to rocktropia with me, we can stab kats or demons together from time to time. ND has started running big events again which is alot of fun with streaming audio and even video now in the last one.

  12. I would like to move to Rocktropia but find that the missions are difficult to pick up and don't always work. Where should I start?

  13. I don't know if its still active, but there used to be a bug on motorheads where you would get the reward for killing 10000 when you only did 1000.

  14. damn, Strider. That was an awesome game back in the day... wasted many hours of my youth on that, and Castlevania... among many other classics.

As far as RT goes. boring as hell, but if you craft explosives, do it over at noobs, noobs, noobs, then run around through the bank up the back alley to the bar and activate the instance by touching the troll's drink. Loot sucks there, but if you are using an ngl grenade launcher you can complete the whole instance in about 10 clicks of the trigger. Fast little way to skill up on explosives if you are making them anyways. I used to be able to grab oil at the arctic to pay for this type of little hobby when I was just using my viper whip instead of the grenades to do the mission, but now that the wolves spawn in the middle of the oil field it's a bit more difficult, lol... Instead just use roi on cld/aud investments to fund it. I think the bar fight instance causes you to kill around 23 or so trolls per instance... each has about half of the hp of a puny mob on any other planet, so you get faster 'kill skill bonus' Too bad the damn trolls aren't in an iron mission type thing there.

On RT DON'T do the prison unless you are ready to do it all or have a tp chip III to get out... The stadium's kegs are pretty fun from time to time, but gets a little pricey if you get killed too often.

Also, DON'T do like I did and fly your chopper too close to dragons around the mountains when doing tp runs... one big fire ball and it'll go up in flames.

Prison only needs a tp2 chip.
And I guess boring is subjective. I'm always busy on rock but on my few visits to caly I just stand around wondering "why?"

Yeah dont do the Prison unless you are in it for the long haul.

It's called "No Way Out" for a reason, and no soc-mate is coming to get you out if you decide you dont like it in there!
