PCF?

  1. What happened to PCF?
It used to be more active and the people had a couple brain-cells that made a spark at times.
Now, except for the selling threads; and a couple of zombies, it seems like the forum is like a mausoleum, a tomb of ancient knowledge void of any intelligent life.

ahh well; things change I guess. :sad1:

  2. it's still more active than most of the other forums out here. Look at Toulan, Monria, or Cyrene's forums and the last post dates and number of daily posts there.

  3. pcf is full of anger...and no brainers. Thanks to MA...and the no brainers x'D

Only some valuable people with honor and dignity left.

  4. Monria chat channel is fun too; it's such a small community out there. I really like it.
Now, I'm off to win one of those cool looking Jamira designed appartements tonight. Bless me a tower.

I have another theory about the dead forums and dead irc. An no McCormick won't like it. My theory is that the rookie chat and other ingame irc channels together with more to "do" in game (missions there is always another mission or simply another place to explore - I wonder how territorial people are ie only staying to small areas of the planets) means that people don't need forums any more. There is plenty of socialness in game. You won't be in that scenario where you are off in the wilderness devoid of people on a long hunting or mining spell these days. There is a flip side to this as with all things. Typically people won't talk to you as you meet them in the wild any more because chat isn't a novelty now. I think if we go back in time irc was a novelty then instant messengers then mmos then social media. People are no longer alone but they can be lonely. The more opportunities for communication the more diluted and impersonal it can get. People can get rude too and simply ignore people not out of deliberate intent but because they lack the mental capacity and burn out. There are also other games so many other games and so cheap. And other activities. Its so much easier to learn things now. I think in my 11 years on Calypso it isn't just Entropia that was Dynamic. I think the world was too.

  12. Mega

    Mega Chaotic Good

    It's basically now used for:

    BUY
    SELL

No point posting in a lot of threads for a certain person to arrive at midnight (GMT) and go on a deleting spree. If you see a thread with 15+ deleted posts, who wants to post in that? You dont know what you missed and you probably will have your post deleted in the same fashion.

Discussion ends, thread dies. The way its going the PCF forum will also die, as a discussion forum anyway.

(Anyone checked Entropia Forum lately? I've seen more life in a doornail)

  13. PCf is now just buy and sell. No discussion anymore since all the discursive types moved over here.

So I keep seeing comments that MA purchased the forum. When did that happen? Anyone got any source for the rumour?

  15. Its in the annual accounts of MA - shows as an asset on the balance sheet. Will get the link.

Depending on when the transaction happened, that amounts to roughly 27,000 - 30,000 USD. Curiously enough, the wording states "invested in", not "acquired". So chances are they only own parts of PCF.

I wonder what exactly the investment was in. It's not as if the forum suddenly underwent a grand update in any way.

  19. Amazing to SEE that even 250% fanboys like Magyar can get mad at MA (CLD return) *trololol* and desperately trying promote standard MMORPG buffs to finally turn (P)EU into a "WOW clone". Jesus...I cant find words anymore. And that guy really means it. x'D

Other then that, calling PCF the "official forum" is an insult.
PCF became so fucked up...I want to puke...

The list of banned long time players from 2006 is bigger then ever by now.
THAT should make one think...but new players wont SEE that.

They should add banners to the forum like :

    "Oldtimers not wanted"
    "People from 2004, go away"
    "Dont buy from oldtimers"
    "List of oldtimer avatars"

And all avatars from 2003 to 2006 should have a symbol above their heads ingame.

Seriously, sometimes I start feeling to be ashamed, about beeing "a part of this game".

    no oldtimers plz.jpg

  20. With so much people leaving PCF with the same feeling...
...May be I should post the serica's picture I included when I did my PCF quit thread.

It seems everybody agree with me (or all agree together).

    * BTW, i did screenshots of my whole thread with all answers, where 85% of people who answered were clearly on my side!
If some people want to see it again (since it was deleted by people who have nothing better to do), I can prepare a link.
