VU9: A place where new players start out, mentors/disciples meet up and form friendships (as I did with my mentor), a bustling trade centre with a bank and a mall close by with lots of small trading at the TP, OJ's running back and forth from the swamp camp virtually showing by habit the way to go for the sweat!. A hive of activity and quite exciting for a newbie...

VU10: A maze without end, a wannabe park with no swings and roundabouts, dead as a doornail, swamp camp hidden away behind a mountain or 4 to the north and lots of huge fishies to the south.... beggars belief they would screw with such an integral part of the new players experience like this. Quite a shock for an old player to see it this way...

There will be more when I can be bothered writing but this stands out for me as a jaw dropper.... if anyone has any others good or bad I'd love to hear them :deal: I've a few more yet myself but I'll share them when I can be bothered writing more :p

The "good old days" have come and gone, there is a glorious future around the corner, but we are here which is even better.

There are things I miss from vu9, mostly friends that dont log any more and the fact that my computer could run on high settings then.

I eagerly await the coming of vehicles, new planets and more quests.

For now though, I enjoy all aspects of the game. I love the grind of skilling when there is ped on my card. I love that I dont have all the TPs anymore and if im ever board I can still go on a TP run even though my avatar is 2 years old. I love exploring and mining in new places ive never seen. I love teaching new players the ins and outs of the economy and how to play. I love that there is more and more new players joining every day instead of the stagnant stench of death you felt in vu9 last spring/summer.

No personal offense against you father, but the only thing that bothers me about vu10 is all the old geazers who continue to talk bad about it without realizing that the past is gone, and negativity will only hurt our new citizens who are the future of the game and the economy it stands on.

No offence taken  kind of why I asked for good *and* bad points.... buuuuuuut for the future to be worth anything the designers have to take on board concerns of both new and us old "geezers"

PA had the "wtf" effect on me as soon as I went there as EU was hardly newb friendly to start with and MA made such good strides with the staffers at the arrivals...

For the most part though I'm quite enjoying VU10 :nunchucks:

Here's another observation to yin-yang my moaning :baby:

VU9: Looked ok but nothing special, call it functional if you want to be polite

VU10: Astonishing graphics :openmouth: shame I need a new PC to appreciate it fully

So.... where do new players get dropped now? Where do they congregate? is there a vu 10 equivalent of "The space ship"? Do they still vacate that area to find a mass of traders beyond? Is there still light hunting opportunities to the west east and south?

New players get dropped in PA -> Cape Corinth -> Troy?.
There is still light hunting available near PA. Actually closer then I remember. I don't see many traders in PA when I am there, but that could be because I am on a differnt time cycle them most calypsian.

Hi Wistrel, Good to see you poking around. I was one of the people that enjoyed your writings a couple years ago. Cheers.

I was born at TI Castle. Thought those brissies looked really cute:biggrin:...till I started to sweat them. Getting better now with newcomers born at PA, Troy & Corinth. The mission broker system at PA is a nice new feature for newcomers.

I d loved if some old features returned of which I only heard of like mentorship, all chips working, rather then implementing new features.

Aye. Tying up all the loose ends would seem like a great idea. As it is, lots of PEDs are tied up doing nothing for a lot of people (hangars, taming, MF, etc)

VU9 - I could log in w/o any problems...no probs with patching or anything, game was running smoooooooth...whilst wasting money...was fun though...

VU10 - Getting "can't find the client" or "Can't start the client"...or installation obsolete...atleast Im not wasting money! O_o

  10. Last nite whilst team swunting with soc members at segna forest, we saw the most beautifull full moon looking down on us. sure was breathtaking. I particularly like the realism implimented in the new VU. We swunted from sunset to sunrize and I can honestly say it is amazing.

But I s till hear horny Munkeys screaming on calypso lol even in desert regions, yet never seen one. it seems tho that the jungle noises comes right out off Farcry 2 LOL
