Also an interesting turn: Casino and gambling companies with gambling licences suing game companies without gambling licences but using elements of gambling in their games. The biggest threat to games like EU might not be regulatory authorities but private companies who smell unfair competitition.

  2. World wide internet legislature should go harder on issue and ages a go too.
Many old and not so old mmorpg changed from subscription for like 20$/month to free to play for several hundreds usd /month.
That is thanks to various pay to gamble models. It go from rare pay to win for known items, consumables, services, promised benefits, to paid for same even knowing that delivery may not happen for example better skill gain scroll for 1 hour witch can expire during harassment of other players, or items witch can be dropped or looted before promised benefit is gained
That's minor issues as im not talking of MA mode of delivery and also because we have pay for a chance to win where you pay a lot of items like boxes to gamble opening them and maybe or not get one useful thing from hundreds.

Bad thing on that senator that he totally forgot adult kids or addicts who should be protected too as they represent majority who get milked for big money.
  3. Seem highly unbelievable noone (governments and authorities) noticed PE/EU is and have always been a gambling game.

Remember mindark affirming PE is not a gambling game...
    yeah sure.

Also remember when mindark had to remove peds from loots...
They replaced a png image showing peds by another png image showing items, but that's always peds... so always gambling.
This is mainly showing at which point authorities can be dumb too.

  4. Doesn't seem to affect MA/EU much as under-18:s have been restricted since times immemorial:

At worst they just disable sale of keys to those known to be under 18.
  5. They only want a piece of the pie as well. :'D
But I admit, it is time for regulation...not only in the gaming market. Some started with the lootboxes...but there is so much more to explore...

This whole "I buy diamonds for 50 $ every weekend, to level up faster" totally got out of control, long ago...because the government still has absolutely no idea on how the internetz works...

In many games its just like buying the same game again and again and again...days of waiting until the hous eis complete ?
No way, I just drop in 10 $, so it is ready to use...thats nothing but a simple scam...and its the fucking biggest market on our planet.
    Because...Idiocracy + laziness = so easy...

The rich, addicted gamblers, cant even decide on their own anymore. But also the piss-poor people, that fuck up their lifes with these gamble mechanisms, are all trapped in this casino. Forever. Because, it can only get better...right ? ,-(

And even if Entropia could still be called a niche product here (yayyy, you can make money) and even if I enjoyed its charm back in the days,
because back then it was completely different...a lovely sci-fi universe, where I payed for steady updates...updates, that were fucking awesome...back in the days...while it turned into a simple pyramid-scam now, as the company completely fucked up in 2009.

Its always embarassing, if these gamblers shout it out :
"Hey, the company is still alive, after such a long time, so they must be doing something right..."
Yes, they do, they reach out for poor gambler souls...with the cheapest methods I have ever seen...they do piss poor work...but its enough, because your addiction is stronger and they know that.

They are doing it right...YOU are doing it wrong...except you cash out on a weekly basis and dont have to work, just because you play Entropia... x'D

Dont get me wrong. If I get epic content for the money I regulary pay to a developer...no problemo...because new content sometimes means "a new part of the game"...but its only deeds and events now...with a ton of lies on top of it.

Mindark failed dramatically with content updates. As a fanboy or gambler, you are now part of a simple pyramid scam and you rather deny it, instead of thinking about it for a moment...because you "invested" so much already...

Re paying for a new part of the game. I always felt Elite Dangerous got that right, the paid upgrade was to land on planets. Fair doo's planet content is kinda different element of the game and you don't need it to be the original space trader.

Re loot boxes... I have some that I got from MA as a present.. I really should sell them while I still can.

  8. After soon 20 years of mindark illegal and dishonest behaviours linked to real money, could be the time for countries to wake up.
But np, the main scammer JWT already left the gambling boat...

In the swedish tradition to scam all people and never be guilty

Well... TBF the loot boxes were a relatively recent addition in the grand scheme of the MA timeline
