A rough 300$ for doing a gigantic map...that the community of 2004 did for free ? Weeks of "work"...bah...
The times they are a changin'. These things need updatin'. The community is too busy playing, or playing other games when they are not playing (because steam, mobile phones, mmo's being 'old' etc etc) rather than making maps. Besides, a community isn't an individual. Wistrel
Im sure you can imagine all the flying around and teleporting across the whole planet, doing notes and screenshots, photoshop, excel etc. For sure it is cheaper to hire a player "for free". In my opinion this "payment" would only be fair if AngelO2Mercer worked on this map since years anyway already and just took his change. Seeing that others tried as well, does indeed show MAs plan worked though. I meant, that it would have been cooler if MA released an official map. But they are so lazy...selling avatar statues...my...what have we come to.
And now he is burdened with keeping it updated (for free!), unless/until he hardens his heart and puts a stop to the requests. We already have Entropedia which is now working again and where people are happy to contribute. While its location section was down, a database was created on PCF to fill the gap. It was certainly meant well and a nice idea in principle by MA to create a contest, but this particular setup, even after the prize amends, is a stillbirth and was a waste of resources from the start.
