Next Stop Next Island

My vision goes white like the bright lights seen when crossing over into another plane of existence. I feel the energy as my particles are reassembled for transfer to this strange new planet and await my first taste of a new world. So familiar yet this time so foreign. A new chapter of life is about to begin.

I emerge once again complete at the teleporter at Crystal Resort Beach Entrance anxious to catch my first glimpse of Next Island. I open my eyes and....what? NO this can`t be! Is it a sign of things to come? A bad joke? I fall straight through the floor of the teleporter platform and am immediately stuck underneath and not able to get out. Yes my first step into this new world is right into a pitfall. I am forced to hit t and revive at a more suitable location.

I revive through an incarnation of Island Girl next to a building. I enter to find a bar and all the things necessary for survival here. Trade, auction, repair, storage. And even better life. I find a few familiar faces that make me feel better about being here. Other transplants discovering and deciphering life on this new planet. They share details and information that I know I`ll find helpful. I start to feel comfortable already despite my rough landing.

I am joined by my friends as I unload my belongings into storage and ready up to stat adventuring and gathering some new teleporters. We jump to a series of new locations taking down small game on the way. Down go a half a dozen or more teleporters before deciding to try and hunt some of the local creatures. Skeletons are on the menu and they show us their best side. They display their incredible stamina in surviving our onslaught of bullets as long as they can. But as most creatures on Calypso they soon fall to our weapons and combined strength. We plunder their emaciated corpses and come away with loot that almost covers our costs. But we must be on to other fare.

One of our last stops for the night takes us to Omens Ridge where we find flocks of hihger maturity Storm Drakes and Death Drakes. One of my friends must retire for the night as my other friend and I decide to take on a few of these winged predators. My friend is instantly mobbed and killed before I can get to assist him. I await his return and tag one of his attackers and eliminate the advantage they had in numbers. The second one killed gives us that familiar and desired yellow swirl and the sounds of trumpets. Next Island I have arrived! Lo and behold our loot contains a small empty skill implant. An item which had been very scarce for me recently on Calypso. Perhaps this move will not be so bad after all if this is any indication. I may like it here after all.

Now tired after gaining several new locations from which to begin my exploration it is time to get some rest. The journey has left me ready to recharge. Lacking a home here I`ll either look for a nice cave or just sleep in my vehicle. I wish I had`nt recently sold my coat. It could be a cold and lonely night ahead. Fortunately years of being homeless on Calypso should have me well prepared. And though weary I am energized and anxious to see what the morning brings. I drift off to sleep contemplating all I`ve seen today yet also thinking about all I have left behind. I feel reborn.

 

Thanks Narfi! Sounds good. I had contemplated RT but been there done that. It was a good excuse to see a new planet. And if I`m going to strand myself somewhere I may as well watch as a new hub of activity develops and try to become part of it.
