New PC Build for upcoming games.

  1. Hi,

After a lot of mucking around I have finally placed an order for my new PC build,

I didn't buy the monitor / OS / Keyboard / Mouse / UPS initially, but here is the box itself.

Our dollar has dropped vs the USD, so yes, those not used to the Aussie PC component prices will say your getting ripped off, however these prices are distributor cost inc gst * 1.15 for retail (15% profit) vs dealer wholesaler/importers such as Altech/Synnex

  3. So yea, including 5 year warranty, the total purchase came to 12,300 Aussie ~ 11,500 USD.

Which leaves me with $ 2.5 k USD to deposit into Entropia and have some fun :)

I mainly bought this new spec to play Elder Scrolls Online and Everquest Next Online.

All other games are secondary :) Except maybe X-Rebirth which is still riddled with bugs.

  4. The monitor being the most expensive part of the computer, but also the best item there :)

  5. Damn, you must be a rich man taking all those expensive parts...
    Have fun gaming in advance!

  6. RAZER

RAZER Custom title ... uh ...

looks like overkill for Minecraft to me :)

  7. Awesome system, can I have your old one?

I'm thinking of canceling my health insurance so I can buy a high end pc :sneaky:

Ya, you gotta have a good 4k monitor to go with your system...good to see someone is helping the pc industry survive.

  9. Hey all,

Thanks for the comments, lol narfi, consider yourself adopted :)
Not rich, I have partially saved for this system and partially took out a loan.
It is intended to last 5 years or at least 4 before replacement.
And then minor additions/upgrades over the period if required.
I was going to put a whole lot of money into Entropia, but opted against it for this PC instead.
Especially with ESO & EQN just around the corner.

Anyway, just thought I would et you all know I am well, just casually cruising in Entropia these days.

    Take Care & Merry Xmas,
    Viper

  11. Time to do something stupid,

I have researched out the overall speed increase obtained and would get the same boost upgrading the video card in my current machine to a Nvida GeForce 780Ti.

SO now I will give Entropia one last shot at doing it properly, deposit 10k usd and skill natural as a bankroll, 500 usd a month added to that. And buy a 780Ti for video performance increae and 240Gb SSD to run it off.

Cancelling both orders for hardware in the morning, Monday :)

4k monitor will have to wait as I have a rocking samsung 60-inch 7.1 surround HT setup as it is, anything better for now is just a wank. Will upgrade further as needed, if needed.

  12. At least you confirm yourself you going to do something stupid... Borrow 10.000 dollar to play the game... Anyway good luck on your venture!

  13. EwoK

    EwoK Southern Fortress Engineering

if you use that money to Hunt on Sanctuary Cove, you'll at least get a bit of it back overall thanks to their events atm.

  14. No only borrowed 4k aussie, 11k saved :) But only putting in 10k, not the entire 15k.
But still putting money into eu seems silly but it is paid for entertainment, 52 weeks at 200 a week :)

Having put in 50k aussie over 7 years this will jut raise hat to 60,000 aussie ~ 50k usd.
So really 200 bucks continuous stream of funding eu each week for almost seven years lol

Sounds sad, but still it is entertainment and it is kissed goodbye once it is put n.

  15. New PC is back on again after the last VUs changes which suck completely.
I confirm my point that MA are stupid fuckers without direction or a clue.

Anyway ordering it in 3 part orders this time as I will be declining the loan and selling off old equipment.

Part one includes the below + Asus 7850 2Gb Video card to be upgraded now to a ATI 290X 4Gb later.

HA it did. Ok took out the update tags and shit. Here is my first order.
I specifically went for certain items in the config due to their overall compatibility together with other components in the config. Nothing overkill this time, Middle of the top shelf stuff, not top of the top shelf which saved me around 1500$ on this first of 3 orders.

Warranty will be covered seperately by a warranty broker - www.nationalwarranties.com.au even though most of the stuff has 3 to 5 year manufacture warranty, they will cover onsite to my house for 5 years on all components for ~ 500$ aussie on the entire $ 10k aussie order and have been around a long time.

Next order will contain additional SSD and HDD, gaming keyboard, mouse, headset, 2 x printers - 1 x colour laser A4 brother and 1 A3 MFC professional class inkjet.

Third order will be on hold until I know what is happening with the newly released ASUS 28-inch 4k UHD monitors which should be the sub 1,000 usd mark in the coming few months. For now I will use my 1920x1080 TV setup.

All in all once done I should have around 5k aussie spare to do other stuff with.

The sad thing is that Joe Shmoe with PC that cost less than your CPU will have more fun in the game than you.

  20. Nah still got $ 5k spare to play with once all this is complete, total system only set me back just over 10k aussie. But not sure if I will bother playing Entropia with it lol. EU is just a joke compared to other cool games available atm.

I know I will come back to EU once those other cool games become boring, I always do by habit.
