Looks like a competitor appears ;-)
Fusion360 is free for education too. Also free for hobbyists if you bring in less than X thousand pounds a year from using it.
Re the latter, it isn't obvious where this option is. I seem to remember I had to start signing up as if I was going to pay for it, and somewhere in the process there was an option to say I was a hobby user.
There are tons of great tutorials as well as regular free live lectures where you can ask questions directly
Well, we missed the Linestripe Shades for McCormick and theProphet until now. It's a tiny part and causes a lot of problems. Smoothing destroys it and using the original version makes it edged. Print is hard because it's not good connected to the head. I decided to build my own and print it as a seperate part.
But probably it's too thin and will break. Can't test it now because printer is busy with a 17 hour part of theProphet.
May I introduce theProphet:
Total height 450 mm.
Experiment with Linstripe Shades:
Needs small adjustment. But better than expected.
mkay i've started the lotus flower choose-the-clothes mission chain ... on ma phone
please akbar if you read this .... S O S ... we maybe need a new travel guide too
Well, while you wear your long coat I advocate Essi Evening Gown and pose "relaxed" for your lotus flower ;-) But I'm afraid it's not your choice. Just make different scans with different clothes and poses.
... I learned from the problems with the shots of your figure!
Why do I love Tyrion Lannister? Because of moments like this:
That's one of the reasons why Tyrion is part of our living room ;-)
So you are making a fountain now?
Probably with your figure?
From first view I see several issues:
But we can handle them.
Another example for "optimized for performance":
Has anyone ever seen Narfi's tongue? 3456 polygons! Pretty optimized. Every character ingame has this tongue ...
Same with teeth:
13344 polygons. Maaaaaan!
2.2 meters? THAT'S MIGHTY! Must be an error ...
Narfi is max height and gerth allowed by the game when he was created.
Next tricky piece is Narfi's beloved dagger.
I got the hilt (really hard to print!):
The blade is just a flat polygon:
The green laser blade is made from this polygon, texture and some FX.
It's not that big deal to make some real geometry in Rhino and paint it later in light green. But probably this is a good point to start thinking about LEDs.
AHHHRG! I am wrong. This is the "smoothed" version of Narfi. So replace the 15k superfluous polygons by 1500 superfluous polygons please.
Perhaps I could get the pizza out of the oven for you with it???
I never knew there were cables, I always thought it was a single piece finger guard. Would make more sense for a weapon imo to protect the cables then hanging out in the open to be damaged.
If it's easier to print perhaps just a simple finger guard, maybe 1/2 the diameter of the hilt? Or whatever you think looks good is fine with me.
We could call it the stingury mk2 or mod stingury with more durability and higher eco for same damage :p
It's a long road to make a good printed statue of an EntropiaUniverse-avatar. Old Narfi is a good example for how it works. So I decided to keep records of this story. I don't want to flood this thread with such a long story. But everyone who is interested in can read part one here:
