Extreme weather in Denmark

We had a very hard winter last time, much colder than usually - and we complained about it of course...

Obviously the weather Gods are not with us, because first we had extreme heat this summer, and now it seems like a monsoom has opened up the sky. Rain is over Denmark. Actually it is normal that it rains here - and often it's nice and refreshing, especially after a period of warm weather - but the last days have been crazy.

This is how it looked like Saturday. Luckily our house is placed on a tiny hill, and from the first floor we can look over the little village - but some of the houses in the village was NOT this lucky, and their gardens got overfloated!

A LOT of peoples houses has been ruined - their basements, business' etc. And they estimate the rain to cost DK around half a billion DKK (one billion PEDs)...

Other than an overfloated dining room and a little water in the basement, we didn't get any major damages. But this morning it all started again, and I was SOAKED when I finaly arrived at work. Now all my things are drying up around in my office.

But then, while sitting here sobing and whining and feeling misserable, I wonder if it's fari to be whining this much ... At least no lifes (in DK) were lost - only material.

Should we not just feel lucky??

 

It actually started raining again. During the day at work I just felt worse and worse, started freezing, sneezing and shiffering from cold. So I went home. I just picked up the little one from school and the weather is so bad you can hardly see were you're driving. Im happy I picked her up now and didnt wait untill I - maybe - would have felt better - because I don't. Now I'm in bed, crafting :) and the little one plays with her new toys next to me :D

But yes, crazy indeed ..,
