Entropia VU News: Entropia Universe 17.1b Release Notes

Discussion in 'Entropia News' started by EP-Newsbot, Mar 5, 2020.

  1. Fixed Issues

    • Fixed an issue that caused Blueprints to display markup as a percentage instead of Trade Terminal(TT+) value
    • Fixed an issue that made it possible to buy Unlimited Blueprints with QR 100 from Technicians
    • Fixed an issue where “Could not execute” text would appear when crafting

MindArk and the Planet Partners strive to ensure a smooth and problem-free Version Update. Nevertheless, even after extensive testing some issues may arise after release. Such issues are often addressed via mini-patches directly after a release and in subsequent patches. If you feel that the possibility of encountering minor issues or bugs directly after a Version Update affects your gameplay to an extent that Entropia Universe is not enjoyable, please wait until the mini-patches have been released and any last minute issues have been resolved.

"made it possible to buy Unlimited Blueprints with QR 100 from Technicians"

Well that's a new one... wonder if that means they accidentally stocked them or there was some sorta thing you "could do" to make it happen....? Guessing the former

edit: ah I see from the other forum it sounds like the QR was being controlled by the number of blueprints you purchased. So buy a stack of 100 and you get 100 QR100 prints.

Unless someone managed to somehow explicitly (I mean code was actually written) override the QR rating during purchase... (seems an odd thing to do) I'm guessing some sort of... I dunno, would it be something like they tried to put something like a 64 bit number into space for a 32 bit number... and it overrode the QR rating property?

    So the structure might be:

    numInStack: 32 bit number
    QR: 32 bit number

but the UI generates a 64 bit number for the number being purchased. If one was stored after the other in memory that might put 100 in the QR box and 0 in the stack box. It might get fixed later on in the code ensuring you actually get 100 in the stack...

    Dunno just a guess.

This was most likely done, just in case you thought MA has a QA department. Or competent people, for that matter.

  4. Buy plueprints with QR 100 was already an issue in the game in pre VU10 (old map), which was fixed immediately by MA.

I don't even believe they have a tester these days. In fact... didn't the tester become the CEO?
