  3. Niiicceeeeee, new content ! :D
Wasnt expecting it so early !!!

Wistrel just asked Deathifier if hes still managing 8Coins some time ago in another thread here
and got a "no comment" if I remember right.

    Link to court document :
    http://www.supremecourt.gov.sg/docs...rew-storey-v-planet-arkadia-pte-ltd-2-ors.pdf

    Taken from arkadia forum :

"Deathifier was a pre-launch investor in Planet Arkadia and received ownership of 8Coins. At some stage Ark Studios took back control of the LA for reasons that are between them and Deathifier. I don't know anything about the copyright issues."

Didnt Arkadia just had to remove a texture, because it was copyrighted ?

Lets lean back and enjoy the show.

  4. I remember there was a thread about arkadia team bought back 8 coins from deathifier, that should be around the time when pre-launch LA needs to consume fertilizer to spawn mobs. I guess it's probably like it, deathifier designed/made the scoria texture and some other things, and let A-team to use it ingame, when the deal closed deathifier asked a-team to change the texture of scoria, maybe even scoria itself. But a-team thought of only scoria texture belongs to deathifier not the entire mobs hence the lawsuit goes in.

    Found it. http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/announcement-regarding-pre-launch-land-area’s-on-planet-arkadia.9632/

  7. Now... they can't find David Dobson, yet David Post has miraculously re-emerged.

Which makes me think - has anyone ever seen both Davids in the same room? :kos:

  11. The case is in the Court's schedule this week.

IANAL and haven't ever been in Singapore, so I have no idea what does "summons for variation of judgment / order" mean in human language.

That it's being heard before an assistant registrar and not a judge though, somehow tells me they're still on proceduralities. (is that even a word?)

I think it means they or their legal representatives are to show up in court for a presentation of their cases, and a preliminary judgement.

Oy vey, the Supreme Court that is. I happen to know Singapore a little since I spent almost a year there, although I skipped any experience with legal troubles. So not sure what exactly it takes, but to get that high up surely means something. At the very least dedicated parties.

How did you dig this up? You must know what to search for in the first place, and when.

  14. So that explains why ark hasn't had any content in the last 2 years. Still fighting dethifier's whiny ass while MA drains them from the other end.

Whiny ass? Do you know something others don't? The whole thing has been kept under wraps, but if I read the original filing right, it seemed as if promises were made, but not delivered. Yes, that's vague, but so was the paperwork.

What makes you say it's Deathifier being whiny?

Didn't Deathifier invest in Ark with the promise for some real estate on the planet or something?
This have been so long ago!

  17. Death invested a bunch of money in ark, was supposed to get 8coins. If i remember right he was upset that tax couldn't be changed and that it wasn't just how he liked it. Most of it was because of restrictions MA put on planet partners at the time. He changed his mind on wanting it and stuck ark with some mobs and odd LAs that aren't really LAs. I also remember hearing something about him considering the mobs on 8coins being his IP.

In reality he is pissed off that TI was not treated how he felt it should have been treated when MA moved to cry engine and has been lashing out at everyone he can. He was very vocal about his displeasure with the new TI and MA not treating him as preferably as ND until he fucked off to who knows where

I had no idea TI also got screwed up with CE. Lykke and I owned a shop that we paid a premium for, because it was right next to the TP. Post-CE implementation, it was about as far from the TP as you could get, and thus worthless. MA basically fucked over a number of people. I never suspected they'd do the same to Deathifier.

And yet, he invested in Arkadia (I wouldn't have if I'd get fucked over like that). He doesn't strike me as the type who'd hold an MA-imposed restrictions against David Dobson, though. Surely he knows how MA operates, and that they're basically just a bunch of asshats.

I'm not sure I follow, though. If he "stuck arkadia" with stuff, then why is he suing Arkadia?

Yeh he doesn't strike me as the type to hold a grudge about Ark if it comes down to features that MA never delivered (and presumably don't let anyone else deliver on their behalf).

I feel sorry for him though about TI. There was a lot of stuff that went on there pre Cryengine that wasn't properly looked after in the transition. Stuff like shop proximity to TP's, the terrible frame rate hits near the towers, Thorkel's Cavern vanishing in a puff of pixels and so on.

I imagine the messing up of all that infrastructure probably really reduced the place's popularity.
