I wouldnt call it deep, profound or promising, but it does mention vr.

it looks like a facebook feed in the client loader.

    Way to go !

Anyway, thanks for the "info". ;D

Jon has been using the term VR a lot, but primarily to describe virtual worlds. VR as people know it is radically different, so I'm not sure he's helping in any way, shape, or form by insisting to use that term, while not referring to the fully immersive experience that EU doesn't, and most likely, never will offer.

yeh he is just using it because it's a media buzzword and bot search for that stuff. Surprised he hasn't started talking of IoT or big data yet. He's only 50% on the hype wagon.

Oh, sure. But it's part of why people feel EU is a scam. It's advertised as VR by Jon, while it's pretty darn clear it's anything but. It reminds me of the dozens of mails I get weekly advertising some company's SEO services, web site design, logo design, etc. If they were really that good and amazing, I'd find them, rather than them having to resort to bullshit claims while spamming me.

Lying in order to do marketing is a damn bad strategy. It's almost equally sad as sending out press releases for every fart. I mean, how terrible does your product have to be that you need to send out a press release that you added missions to your game (something most other games have had for ages), that you attracted someone from Siemens, that you are organizing an election for a Virtual President, that you have a virtual meeting tool, etc.

    Oh wait :D

Tried to have another shot at Entropia and VR the other day. Long story short I failed. While my new work laptop can fully handle Entropia, it can't handle any Quest2 VR. The Oculus software just encounters a general error when trying to connect, either via wifi6 or cable.

Ah well. I'd try it on my PC but I don't have USB 3 and when looking into expansion cards, even my PCI express bus speed is way under par for being able to deliver the sort of speed it should in theory make available for such things. I guess I could try getting a wifi 6 network card but I suspect that wouldn't work all that well either for the same reasons. I'm not even sure my gfx card would work with it as in theory they want a 970 min. While my 680 is probably speed equivalent, it might be missing something in terms of newer tech standards that is maybe needed. Getting the occulus software running at all on my PC isn't a given either due to missing modern instructions (e.g. POPCNT) on its old CPU.

My friend has a portable PC. I might ask him if I can try it on that one day. I bet even with a working VR setup Entropia either doesn't work or is just a big implementation fail anyhow.
