  1. Statement Regarding Arkadia Land Plot Prizes in the "Gold Rush 2017" Event

Planet Arkadia and MindArk would like to issue an official statement regarding the Arkadia Land Plot prizes that were won in the Planet Arkadia “Gold Rush 2017” event.

Due to the delay in the delivery of these prizes for which the event was advertised with, Planet Arkadia and MindArk have come to an agreement which will grant each winner of the Land Plots a compensation consisting of 40 Arkadia Moon Deeds.

The Arkadia Land Plot Deeds will be spawned directly to the eligible avatars as soon as the estates are available in game which is scheduled to be in the September content release.
The Arkadia Moon Deeds will be spawned directly to the avatars inventory in connection to this announcement.

The Arkadia Moon Deeds are still available for purchase on the Entropia Universe Web Store as well, with less than half deeds left don’t miss your chance of acquiring additional Deeds before they all are sold.

And while Arkadia forum is down at the time of writing, "busy with upgrades" it says. Not wearing a tinfoil hat, just finding the timing funny.

So more than a year after, MA still needs 4 extra months to develop the land plots? Did they ever even start with it to begin with? I cannot imagine Arkadia promising stuff MA hadn't committed to, so this almost raises more questions than it answers.

They said after the event development of the prizes would begin in May. Back then they also didn't say which year.

Jesus it's land plots... this system has been around since almost forever now. This is just super weird... you can't have land plots even though land plots have been around for ages but here, have some deeds for a non-existent moon that may or may not show up and may or may not be popular or turn any significant ROI.

    I'm getting concerned now...

So, another band-aid. In September there will be another band-aid to announce another 6 month delay.

Also, why not Peds instead of deeds that don't pay anything and can't be sold until whenever?

Nice (shady salesman) slipping an ad in there too.

  10. wonder if Mindark figured out that randomly adding estates causes major underlying problems in the entire virtual universe so are being careful to make sure to not make that bug/glitch happen again... happened almost every time that a new area was created... starting with Vu 10, Medusa Head, etc. Basically it's like the server system behind plots and estates is outdated database that Mindark doesn't have a lot of control over programmatically or something?... and it all has to be manually coded for each individual estate?

That doesn't really make sense, though. All a LA really is is a set of coordinates.

What kind of issues were experienced? Could you please elaborate?

  12. problem is quite simple to explain. because EU treats each planet as a different place, it's not that easy to just copy something from one planet to another.

everything is complicated at MAHQ because they made it so - and we also know they can't even copy-paste properly...

  13. Item points on random estates go poof, sometimes for months...

There's other threads too, but no time to dig too far at the moment

Basically same bug pops up with every big new area entering game... since each estate can be upgraded individually and it requires handing ped to m.a. npc it's likely big time spaghetti coding

I still don't really see the issue. Shit likes this works in pretty much every other game. MA must really have done something retarded if this is the case, because I am having trouble imagining why this would be such a big deal to code.

After all, they have 20 years of experience, and the Gotenborg tradition of excellence and a very high bar of quality :D

What gets me is that after all these years they STILL don't go into details. Other developers will provide comprehensive lists of bug fixes for every update. Closest we get from MA is "there's a thing, so we disabled it".

An informed customer is a happy customer.

Only defense they have is to say that it would effect the economy but I say REALLY? REEAAAAAAAAAAALLLY? IN ALLLL CASES?

No no I rather suspect it would not. Sure if they told everyone how to trap a mob and sweat farm but no reason I can think of for them not to explain why they couldn't sort out some taxable land areas.

  17. One might think MA does some of these obvious "Bugs" on purpose...so they they have something "to fix", after things like Deepthroat fails...and ppl can cheer for MA.
    (aka "yay, they fixed something!")

A-Team only added oil to the fire by banning Sokolade and closing that thread, by staying completely silent. Very rude. Epic fail.

However, its MA pulling the final lever, not the "partner"...hence A-Team will be pulled through the mud from now on. Gratz.

Beeing a "Partner" usually means a high level of stress and anger.

We have reached a point of ridiculousness...with people still cheering for MA...that is unbelieveable, even in terms of MAs history of fails and lies...and tradition of excellence. ;D

I can understand him to a degree. A bit sad he didn't detect the people actually on his side and trying to help him find better ways, but nobody's perfect. The forum, both public and admins, losing patience was equally bound to happen. You could just watch and knew it was going to crash and burn. Well we know who is behind all this and I can't hold a grudge against anyone who lost it when they found themselves at the wrong end. I'm inclined to think that the campaign to spread knowledge about possible and affordable legal recourse may have helped to accelerate a resolution in the end. Whether or not that is the case, it's out there now and someone will remember if such a thing ever happens again. Mission accomplished.

I certainly still am pissed about MA rearranging locations og shops, ensuring that the shop we paid a premium for was devalued with quite a large amount overnight. I raised a support ticket at the time, and basically was told to suck it up.

MA will have noticed that my depositing behavior changed drastically after that. It wasn't even because of a huge sum of money, but the fucking principle. If I was invested to the extent that Deathifier is, I'd have sued a long time ago, and called every gaming site out there. MA keeps boasting about investment potential in EU, but if they literally can decide to turn your investments worthless overnight, I for one will pass.

And apparently I'm far from alone, seeing the theme to make money shifted from selling in-game shit to Derptokens. And even with that they failed.
