Built in cheat (PVP)

Discussion in 'General Entropia Universe Discussion' started by McCormick, Jan 7, 2015.

  1. I know this is old. But to me its new.

If had known this before, I would have never ever gone into pvp4 again.

For someone like me, that is slowly trying to return to Entropia, this feels more or less...like a built in cheat.

There is even a thread on PCF about it, Cerberis spoiling it...because of... reasons.

1.) Set FL to Nearby only - Even NON Friends show up now. (WTF MindArk !?!?!)
2.) Enter pvp (if really needed, use additional radar bug) ;) (dunno if it still works and how)
3.) Run around with FL open ! :D
4.) Suddenly a Name appears ? Drag its Health Bar !
5.) Click Healthbar, spot your victim ! No hiding possible ! (or run for your life! xD)

6.) Use "Select Target" + Macro Mouse @10-15ms clicking on it ! Never fire into the air again !

Today MA Official Lupus said "6.)" fixed. You can no longer use "Select Target" in pvp :

Then again support Ulf said the following today about "6.)" (not fixed):

Why has this not been fixed yet ? Why even introduce the "Near" feature ? What for ?
Because MA is not loosing any money and some pkers are happy to shoot more now...

And those poor miners who still do not know about it...seriously...wtf... :'(

I'll make the assumption that you have opened a support case with MA to identify this defect.

I'd agree that this probably doesn't make thier top-10 list as it does no harm to thier profits. It anything, it may help them.

I didn't know about that one... I hope they fix it. It makes sense to have a near only for friends if you have a lot of them maybe but yeh clearly a bug that it shows non friends. MA might have realised but not thought of how it could be used as an exploit.

    Send them your picture

  4. ofc i reported it, like (hopefully) dozens of others fed up pkers/miners/explorers.

But it is an "old" feature by now...

  5. Current state of PvP = derrrrrrrrrrp

The thing is that everything McDonalds post has 99,99% chance of not representing the facts. I am not yet into PVP so I'm not going to loose my sleep over that.

I did wonder how they "spotted" me last time I went to the big Rig. Now I know... I was fairly well hidden in a building.

  8. Today MA Official Lupus said that "Select Target" doesnt work anymore/now in PVP as he has tested it himself.

He wasnt amused about the remove "Nearby" Feature.

Back in 2004 we had no scrambled radar and you only could see a green dot approaching on the radar.
If you had no visible contact, because of hills and trees, you never knew who might be approaching you.
Some noob ? Pronstar ? Now you just drag healthbars and tp toward the avatar...or tp far away. If you havent been shot already, that is. :p

Hiding and sneaking was indeed way more fun/action then this "nearby" Feature.

So I was right to not believe that 6 works

You can list everyone near you in PVP even with the radar scrambled.
You can drag thier health bars from that list (making it easier to target)
    You cannout use "Select Target".

  11. While Lupus said it is fixed, Support Ulf said the following today :

  12. Na he just found something old but new to bitch about really..

    narfi Lost

If you have yourself set as invisable or whatever its called (incogneto?) then your name will appear as red on the friend list and your hp bar can not be dragged off.

I assume anyone actively playing in pvp will have this set to prevent others from dragging their hp bar.
good or bad, I am not sure, but I think that is how it works anyways.

  14. Even if that would be the solution (I could drag hp bars of red names at Ashi pvp), Ulf wasnt happy that I posted the "Select Target" in public and claimed they were working on it, as it was their fault, while Lupus said it is fixed already. Now that makes sense.

Why I liked to find out everything by myself back in the days, such a "feature" should have been well explained to everyone by 100% on introduction. I bet the majority of the casual Entropia gamer is NOT aware of this "feature".

The 1st spoiler was Cerberis on PCF, 3 weeks ago.
I got lured there by someone else 3 days ago, as I stopped reading there.
So this was indeed very new to me.

@OZtwo (I got told you posted some really intelligent stuff in here, which I must read...so I clicked "show ignored content"...just to find your usual trolling attempts)
The next time you stumble across something "new"...which is old to others...think about your "intelligent" phrase you posted here. :)
And no, I wont read your reply to this, so keep it short. ,-)

  15. Well play at Mindarks own game, use 3rd party software to get an advantage I have a solution to go underground no one can shoot at you or see you can stand right in front of rig bingo shoot and pick up oil.
I won't share how its done. Also not worth this risk others doing it anyway.

  16. No need to go underground, when you are safe inside of the pump. ;)

Just dont stick an arm/leg/head out !
