    Just a heads up that MSR is down at the moment due to issues with the radio broadcast software.

    MSR is now streaming 24/7 again ... I had to re-download the radio software because of some glitches, but all is working just fine now, and ... I have also added more tracks to the jukebox library thanks to those who have been sharing their favorites in this thread. I have picked out quite a few songs from those suggested, and I managed to get through page 7 with plenty more to go. I started with Spike's lists in his own thread first, and then moved to the other one.

    Thank you to everyone adding music videos so that I can listen to them in the thread. You guys ROCK! :headbang:

    MSR is offline right now ... not sure when I'll have it back up again. Seems every time I take the broadcasting software down to reboot my system, I have an issue loading up the software again ... it hangs on me. I've made several tries, but now I have to be away from my computer, so I will give it a go again later. I'll post when it's up and running.

    I have a couple dumb questions. What software are you using, and what OS (I'm guessing win7)? OK that was one question.
    The first thing that pops in my mind, there could be either a dependency that is not starting first, or another program(s) is/are starting at the same time, and a resource conflict is taking place. Which could be causing you broadcast software to hang. You could check the windows event log to find that information. I could try installing the software on a VM, and see what's going on if you would like. I may not be the best at this, but I can give it shot. Oh one more thing, do you have it starting automatically or are you starting it manually. If the former, have you tried disabling the autostart routine and starting it manually? Could also be proof of a startup conflict.

    Hope that help a little, or at least points you in the right direction.

    Not dumb questions Hon ... I'm not running Win 7, and the radio broadcasting software I use is licensed .. it's SAM Broadcaster but it's not free software, it runs $300 USD, which I bought in early 2009. I also don't have the software on auto-start, but rather start it manually. The other thing is, once I have it running, it runs for a long period of time, because I shut my computer down and relog only when I do maintenance or have to. MSR is a 24/7 music stream, and I have the jukebox playing at all times.

    Thing is, I don't know if it's something on my side, or with the actual software website when I load up the software, because if I'm looking at this right, it has to load up the user's data first, and then I go through the process of logging in to the radio server I'm hosted on by EntropiaPlanets to establish my streaming Encoder.

    So, I have no idea what causes the issue, but ... after a while, and after trying several times, it usually connects, so I'm thinking it might have something to do with the website, not sure. I'll post when I have it working again.

    Well darn... I totally apologize for not being very help full. I did notice the company is in my neck of the woods. Looks like some interesting stuff, and they have a free trial offer. Not sure when, but as soon as I get some free time (end of quarter at work, and just the time of year), I will download it and create a vm to play around with. Just to see how it works. Looks like a neat toy. Probably not something I would use though regularly. Cheaper options and all. The running the computer till to have to relog is not a bad thing, I do the same with mine as well. Of course I am the print server for the rest of the house.


    Can I PM you some more question later on this? It's late and AM comes early Plus I want to do some reading before I ask anything else. If that is OK. Please don't think I'm trying to be a pest, it's an interesting challenge is all. And I really like figuring stuff like this out. I just need more information.

    MSR is back up and streaming 24/7 again ... so enjoy! After Tuesday (term is over), I will start adding more music to the jukebox, so thank you to all who have continuously added their favorites and new tracks in the "What are you listening to ..." thread, it's appreciated.

    MSR is down at the moment ... for some reason the live stream was disconnected and I can't connect to the server again. Maybe they're going through maintenance or something, but I'll check back in a while. It's already after 2am Lykke and Peter's time, so I can't text them about this.

    I'll post when it's streaming again.
