    Well, despite that I have an issue with 711 selling off the old EF database, this move by MA was enough to get me to finally sign up at EF. If MA is going to make a real effort at answering our questions (even though there are restrictions), I would rather be a participant in this process, than just an observer. EP could have handled this just as well, but we all know that historically, there has been a relationship between EF and MA, so it was really a no-brainer.

    It will be interesting to see where this goes.

    hmm.... well I think I've had my time on EF really. I'm happy here and checking the other planet partner sites from time to time.

    I think if MA say anything similar to the level of non answers we get from Skam these days I don't think I care anyhow.

    You missed this out:


    • 711 sold the whole EF community without a notice, to First Planet Company (a planet parter) - without any notice to any other planet partners either.
    • 711 got hired by First Planet Company to administrate the new forum with all the old members on it - and now works for First Planet Company.
    • At the same time 711 opened up the old EF again, but without any members. All the old members who went to old EntropiaForum though, was an easy target for new registrations - and so EF now has near 3K members again (which shows how fast people forget).
    • Now 711 allied with MindArk - and they use old EntropiaForum as their new official platforum ... (didn't say, that 711 is working for MA ... !)
    • ... now we wait for 711 to sell off the forum and members to someone else ....

    711 works for MA? Hmm... didn't know that. Thought he was a third party. From a security perspective, it makes sense I guess? Funny how the history of things come together in this virtual universe and the companies that run it... cybersquatters usually get sued. He got hired. Is Divine Vixen's Name still showing as the owner of one of the mall shops?

    Well, I don't think he works for MA, but rather is contracted by SDS (previously FPC) to maintain and administrate the PCF forum site. I'm sure he is compensated for that in some way.

    Don't know about the status of Vixen shops at any of the malls though.

    Well considering what Lykke said above the issues now are how 711 works for MA. MA are using his forum and may well be paying him for this work on EF. We don't know any details but it sure looks dodgy. 711 is now essentially a contractor for SDS and possibly a contractor or staff for MA.

    Without MA telling us the facts we can only speculate.

    If they have such plans they should speak out since they have not said anything we cannot assume that to be a fact.

    Seems a rather dumb way of doing things. Why not just add communication with player base to their new website which looks quite good and would be an ideal place for MA to talk to it's playerbase.

    no, Digit, he sold it to PCF (former MA) which is a planet partner. What worries me in this deal is:

    1) people who signed up on old EF as being an independent fan forum created by MindBuster back in time (and mind you, sold as such to 711) was sold without any notice to a planet partner and into a new forum name and platform
    2) selling off a community base with basically the whole community in it to one single planet partner seems a little unfair towards the other planet partners EVEN if the Universe started with only Calypso I really don't find it to be a valid excuse or explanation towards other PP

    Glad to hear he does not actually work for them. I do agree, it's all a tad shady... It would have been nice if they'd moved MA over to here instead of to there, but I guess they felt more comfortable working with 711. As far as the selloff goes, we, the community wanted Calypso to make their own forum. They should have started from scratch, but chose to do it their own way I guess. Probably just a matter of time til 711 sells MA the entire .com and new database... sell off, copy idea over, and sell off again seems to be becoming too normal around the virtual universe.

    but... uh... he's still an admin on pcf?!?
