I would like to hear some thoughts about the Land Deeds, are you think they are worth buying? Will you be buying? Is it the start of something good or the beginning of the End?

I am really not sure what to think ..

Personally I think they are a good idea and a very good investment opportunity. If I had enough money I'd buy the whole lot of them :)

I sold off enough junk to buy one. If I hit an uber HoF tomorrow, I'd buy more, at least enough to develop a house. This opportunity is very much aligned with my initial and ongoing motivation for participating in Entropia - the actual colonization and development of a persistent virtual environment.

I have no real expectation of generating real-world revenue from the game, but I have always been a disciple of generating in-game revenue for the development of my avatar. My avatar loves this ;)

I dont think i would buy them.......Mindark predicts arund 30% return on investment a year.......dat means if i buy one for $100 it would take me over 3 years to recoup my investment and start to be in profit.....too long for my taste......but thats just mu opinion :D

The thing is, though. If you buy regular shares, bonds, or futures, you're bound to end up with a fraction of 30% ROI (Note that nobody guarantees you do end up with an anual 30% ROI). And other than the potential prospect of Calypso tanking completely, you would not be taking a gigantic risk. Calypso has been around for more than a few years, and heck, it probably will stick around for a few more.

Well there's lots of risk associated with the Land Lot Deeds. The main being that the price will be determined by the player base, and with only about 8,000 of the 60,000 shares sold, already some buyers second guessing their decision are dumping them for less than they paid. They could potentially double in price or be worth half what you paid, and for me that's too risky. The estimated ROI sounds great at 27% compared to other IRL investments, but that could also come in at a much lower or higher rate. Most lands in game produce a higher ROI than even the estimate given out by Mindark. For me, investing in greater opportunities is what I'm doing for now. I may come around to investing in the Land Lot Deeds later on as I have more funds available that I want to keep invested inside the Universe. I do very much like the idea of the new system and where it will lead us will be very interesting none the less.

I sold my inventory and my bear armour and have 4 now. I have some old-school guns that I use sometimes that i can sell as well to make it 5 before the first payout starts. If it 5 ped a week that means 100 ped a month. I want to have 25 deeds so I no longer have to deposit anymore any which way I play. (because 500 ped was my monthly deposit). I want to try to get it by ingame means.. not use outside money but already spent ingame money, which will probably mean i have to sell my skills.
If I do it this way, then If mindark goes bust I will have lost nothing but the ped I already spent. But first let's wait if it;s really 5 ped a week per deed.

I also cleared some storage junk a got a couple deeds, I guess its better to get a little reward from them than having a lot of ped just stuck in storage (and getting nothing) ;)
