Any way of placing an offer on an item that isn't for sale yet?

eg for items like say vampire feet or something

Yes for example an alternative to the web pages they have for trading on PCF where people say "wanted" or "forsale".

I guess I want to be able to... I dunno... make a wish list perhaps? OK no thats a little frivolous haha.

Specifically, if I'm after an item I want to be able to register my interest against that item with say an offer of what I am vaguely willing to pay.

Table wise I guess we are talking something like:

OFFERS

itemID, userID, dateOfferMade, dateOfferExpires, OfferAmountTotal, personalMessage, numberRequired, Active
key(int), key(int), non null(date), can be null(date), can be null(decimal), can be null(text), non null(int), non null (int)

eg 343434, 2232, 7/1/2012, null, 500peds , "approx offer pm me on to discuss", 1, 1

well the idea of a wish list is not bad at all actually
about the order per an item, well the system works well in the in game auction, no one read the offers but them are working in background to guarantee you the possibility to buy at your price your wished item (if this is for sale) .
not sure the same system can work easily in a forum...... a reader must read your order and you must be so lucky to get a reader that actually own your wished items at your wished price. In entropiabay could be possible...... like if you create an order and in case your wished item is present at your wished price you get an email.........

I think a good idea would be if when a user generates an inventory calculator listing, anything that someone else has on order would be highlighted in some way. That way someone instantly can realise there is a demand for one of their items.

For example I have a jacket that I know is sposed to be worth quite a bit and in demand. It is one thing to see an estimated value based on auction sales (IF I can find a buyer) but a much better thing if I can see that there is ALREADY someone wanting to buy my stuff! (and what they are offering for it)
