I said it's a fish, why because it has fins and looks like a fish so it must be a fish :)

They were saying it's a whale ... !

Shoya Tomizawa dies during Moto2 race

None of you probably know this, but I am a huge fan of racing. I like to watch everything with 2 or more wheels race and even some with wings. The racing sport has come a long way the last years and very few people die during races. The last Formula 1 death was Ayrton Senna on May the first 1994 at the San Marino race. So racing cars has become safer and safer and even motor cycle races are very safe these days with all the clothes they wear and the safety of the tracks. One thing you can't prevent is a collision between drivers on the track and most of the time even this will end up without much harm. Last Sunday however a 19 year old Japanese race driver died during the Moto2 (1 step below the top of moror racing) at the Misano racing circuit. An apparent innocent fall turned very bad when the driver was hit by 2 of the bikes that were driving behind him.

This video shows the accident how it was broadcast live on TV. Know that you see the accident if you watch this video, but there is no graphic images.

Avoid to be scammed: Know the scamming methods!

Lets make a compilation of scamming methods, would be cool if we dont discuss to much in here but just explain how different scams work, so you know how to avoid to get scammed.

Most obvious are the one time trading things, always check the message what you are trading before you click accept!

1. trade
scammer takes money/items out of the window before clicking accept hoping you dont see it

1b. floor trading
scammer tells you his trade is too laggy, broken, too many items - whatever it needs to convince you to go outside somewhere and drop items on the ground for trading. you go first.. he never follows but runs with your item/peds

2. borrow/just look
scammer saying "i just want to look" and in the end click accept hoping you (accidentally) do it too

3. fap decay check
after using your fap service, scammer will ask to see decay of the fap, pay the decay .. and if lucky get a very cheap fap of you

4. Help I've been scammed by ...

Yes the reverse scam. Telling ppl you have been scammed to get items because the community feels srry for you. I saw this happen once with a newbie where it turns out that the newbie was lying all the time in order to get some free items.

5. Trust scam:

A person will act like your friend.
The person will show you he/she can be trusted.
The person will ask you if he/she can borrow some high level items (or low, depending)
The person will never deliver it back.

6. *Stealing* another players identity

The scammer will create an avatar that looks very much like another player in game
The scammer will use this other identity to take advantage of that other persons rep in game, by borrowing things etc.

7. The nigerian scam in game (based on my own experience, unfortunately)...

The scammer might have something of yours or owe you something.
The scammer tells you about some real life problems (or that he/she is a minor) and cries out why he/she can't deposit before getting x amount of money or the first deposit or whatever.
You feel sorry and wish to help - he runs with your money.

8. The 'love'scamming game (this is one of the WORSE I have ever known of)

A guy is making a female avatar and hits on all male avatars he get's near of
One will bite at a point and he starts this online ingame love-affair
It can take months - he has time enough - sending you fake pictures of himself etc.
The other guy will fall for it (sorry guys, you're too easy) - and this is what's so horrible - A LOT OF THESE IN LOVE GUYS HANDS OVER THEIR ACCOUNT LOGIN TO SOMEONE THEY BELIEVE IS THEIR ONLINE GIRLFRIEND!!!!
The person will log in and rip your account ...
This happened to one of my friends! And it's absolutely HORRIBLE!
Lesson to learn: Get a gold card and NEVER share your login details with anyone!

9. Last but not least; Shoot a cousin in the knee-scam ...
Doesn't even require any guns or cousins ... only a lot of trust from the community.

Reveal a scam and offer proof

Hello all,
i'm still amazed how quiet about a scammer which was recently revealed the community is.
Well after i got several PMs demanding proof i guess the info spread over whole ef.com was not so obvoius to find as it was for me. So i take consideration of human lazyness ( no offense i'm lazy human too lol ) and compiled a list with all threads and screenies with proof.

For me personally it's a concern to stop this scammer, but i'm not a person who makes witchhunts. So just be careful who you trade with and allways demand colleteral if you lend someone an item. I hope this scammer won't scam another batch of 10k PED from someone.

Still some info which i won't make public, since even a scumbag like him deserves protection of privacy. This info will be of more intrest for legal authorities when the person who was scammed decides to take legal action.

Clubcalypto.com Radio Creates quite a Stir on Planet Calypso

Recently Clubcalypto.com Radio decided to participate in the EU forum after an anonomous player posted some very ignorant information about the radio station. Its is easy to see that this player was scared to voice his opinion using his real avatar. Clubcalypto.com radio decided to respond and ask the player to prove even one of his statements. It appears that there are relationships there that indicate that there is a tight knit group of players that actually control issues there and how they are adressed. If you are thier friends then u get treated fairly if your not then the opposing views get the real royal treatment. With that being said Clubcalypto.com radio decided to test the water and do a test to see if reports from many players were true. We responded to the discussion and were bombarded by neg reps simply for responding. Clubcalypto.com in the process had Many thousands of views from many players interested in the controversy. The controversy stems from players that have played a while attacking new players with a fierce round of attack in an effort to appear as honest concerned players. After 26 years in broadcasting I made some statements that i will stick by as it was designed to demonstrate the Mob mentality they Have. Last night as a test we decided to hold a Beach Party way away from sweat camp at a beach we found and named it the hell beach. The test was to see if the other Radio would send hecklers down in an effort to attack us when we minding our own business. Sure Enuff the radio station out of atlas haven had 3 announcers and two spammers there spamming Thier Radio out of atlas haven was at our Party far away from locations they use normally. It demonstrated thier frustration that clubcalypto.com radio is becoming a well known source for real radio as they are quite boring in all honesty and thier announcers are basicly Kids with a laptop. We watched as they began spamming our event and the crowd quickly voiced thier opinion that it was a low and sad attempt to disrupt our events. Clubcalypto.com simply sat back and watched and took notes. My avatar is becoming a household name and they are freaking out. I fully expect additional folks that support them to take this discussion of why a poor station like (the one that operates out of atlas haven) would attack a good station like Clubcalypto.com as it seems kinda dumb in all honesty. What are your thoughts on why they would show up at our event way away from tp stations and sweat camp to create comtroversy. I have all the evidence and many players willing to verify it occured just to back up my statements. So this discussion will be about that menatlity, expect a lil trashing here as this is how they handle situations. I am not with out fault either as i do speak my mind on the air and the vast majority of our listners actually enjoy that.
I am no saint and plan to continue voicing my opinion of many players we feel want to stick thier necks out and be on the jerky side. Its what we do we see a jerk and let folks know that they are jerks. Thier radio is going downhill and as they do expect them to do even more bone head moves..I will keep you posted as that group does additional bone headed moves on planet calypso. They have been working hard on EntropiaPlanets integrated Wiki, both in the visible spectrum, as well as behind the scenes! Without these two dedicated staff members, the Wiki would never have been what it is today! Of course, I'm talking about our Wiki Gurus, RAZER and Tass.

The Wiki is as 'young' as our forum. In the beginning, when we integrated it, our goal was to have the Wiki tightly connected to the forum and its content - as a dynamic source of information - and at a place, were you only need one single password to access both!

We were looking at the empty Wiki page thinking: "Cool, now what?", and funnily enough, it did not fill itself in. I don't believe we ever imagined the amount of WORK and HOURS and more hours it takes to enter data into a Wiki, to make it as useful as possible.

RAZER and Tass joined EntropiaPlanets and offered their help. And very soon after the Wiki took form and new awesome things were added. Today the Wiki is not as empty as it was, and the guys are still working a lot to fill in what's needed. It is difficult, of course, because new things are also being added to the game all the time - with new planets, new missions, and what not - but with common help, and hopefully a more and more expanding Wiki Wookie Team, they manage in a way which is really amazing!

How long you have been playing Entropia Universe?

I started playing at 20 December 2004 right after I saw an news article about Treasure Island being sold to Deathifier. Before this I had never played an MMO so it was a bit of a shock and I had to learn not only the game, but also how to act in a MMO and how to interact with people in a virtual world. I made a few friends and sweated a bit before I realized sweating was way too boring and slow, so I deposited some money in the game. I bought some armour, a weapon, and some mining gear to try it all out and found out that I like hunting the best, so I stuck with that.

After a while (I think it was 2 years) the game got boring to me and I quit playing for about 1,5 years. After that, I started playing again (which might be because I saw Club NEVERDIE being sold, but I'm not sure) and I got the famous 'welcome back' HOF from MindArk (a 6700 PED foul). From the profits, I bought some nice Ghost armour and a weapon (I think it was an Isis LR32) and started to hunt a lot (well not according to some people, but a few hours a day). After a while, my playing started slowing down a bit to the level I am now: Playing a little most of the time, with some periods where I play a lot.

Where are you from in real life?

Rotterdam, Holland.

Why do you play?

Unlike some people I play for fun and I don't expect or try to earn money (although it would be nice to get another big HOF someday). I don't mind paying to play the game and I do.

What are you're doing most in-game?

These days I spend a lot of my time gathering info for the Wiki. I also hunt a bit or try to help out newbies at Swamp Camp or Nea's. I've also done some TP runs with ETA in the past and think I need to do some more, because they are fun to do.

Why did you chose to help with the wiki?

That's not as easy to answer as you might think. I was a member of EntropiaPlanets from the very beginning and this wiki thing was something I could do, and, as I found out, I liked to do. I had never done it before so it also gave me an opportunity to learn more about wiki's and about Entropia Universe as well. Then, after a while, I became a wiki guru and was added to the EP staff group, where I got to see the inner workings of a website and all the stuff needed to run one. I also get a sneak peak of all the GREAT stuff that is going to happen in the future ;)

What are you working on now, the challenges, plans for the future etc.

One thing I'm doing at the moment is getting a list of all the rare items in game and get their TIR numbers so we can see how many of them are in game. This is not a 'real' project, just something I do on the side. Other then that I try to get as much items in game as I can. Some other stuff is the EntropiaTracker data in the wiki.

With all the new stuff happening on Calypso and RockTropia and the 2 new planets that are on the way (Next Island and Cyrene) we have a lot of work and this will not be any less for a while either. Therefor I wanna take this opportunity to ask EVERYONE to help us out with filling the wiki. Now we have only a few people actively filling the wiki and we are over our heads in work, so we need more people to fill in all the missing info. If you want to help us and you don't know how, send me a PM and I'll try to help you out. Also know that if you try something and you break anything in the wiki, that everything can be set back to the way it was, so don't be afraid to try, just let us know if anything goes wrong so we can correct it.

How long you have been playing Entropia Universe?

I have been playing since August 2008, if I remember correctly. I came to EU while I was doing some research for a university paper about aspects of reality in "virtual" worlds. I didn't finish the paper that term because I was playing EU for too many hours...

Where are you from in real life?

Ahh, Real Life, that's were it becomes tricky... Actually I live at 3 different places of which Frankfurt/Germany is probably the only one to be known.

Any other Real Life info you wish to share?

Even more? Well... my Real Life is rather complicated. I'm just into too many things. These days I study theatre-, film- and media science, politics and psychology. Not to reach any final degree but just out of interest. So that's rather a hobby. I work as a... mh... concepts and project manager would fit best in a somewhat creative area. If you need a basic concept or a creative solution for any problem I am the one to call. ;)

Why do you play?

I've been a gamer ever since. And I play on all platforms. For example I'm preparing a paper chase to happen the coming weekends and I am about to re-establish playing board games with people I was playing with about 10 years ago. Also playing pen and paper RPGs. I mainly play because it's fun and don't get why so many people stop playing when I like EU because of the RCE that adds something real to a "virtual" world.

Now this sounds like I play games all the times but unfortunately I play very seldomly due to all the other stuff I do and have to do (working).

What are you doing mostly in game?

Besides waiting for beacons to be re-implemented it's definitely gathering info for wiki (and forum threads) these days. I'm really an Explorer and...

Why do you help with the wiki?

... a tiny bit of a Socializer makes me sharing the discoveries with 'the community'. I think to a little extent it's also 'our' game and it will become what we make of it.

What I like mostly about the wiki is the aspect of collaborative authoring. We can all work on the same page anytime and make it the most comprehensive and most up-todate source of information about any topic.

Unfortunately there seems to be some kind of reluctance when it comes to wiki editing and people seem to prefer to create x forum threads about the same topic. Although wiki editing is a easy as easy as posting on forums. When it comes to providing information forums are so last century ;)

I also like little projects and teamwork that when using a wiki can lead to pages like CND or Calypso Gateway.

What else are you working on, the challenges, plans for the future etc.?

It's already hard to keep up with all the events and new stuff added to EU. So with my limited time I mainly try to keep things up-to-date.

A kind of long term project is the mission documentation. I would like this opportunity to call for help. Mission pages had 10thousands of page views but only a handful of editors. HELP!

The future is long and the ideas are huge, just a few:

Better integration of Mission Tracker, TP Tracker and a future Skill Tracker with the wiki
Integration of auction data and global data, where I hope for EPs very own productions as well as for cooperations with EntropiaTracker and auction data sites
Dynamic maps, dynamic everything
Wiki portals for each planet and the major activities (hunting, mining, crafting)
[Having ALL items, places, shops, etc. on the wiki
Last but not least the ultimate guide to whole EU that anyone can edit, of course

Should we split up items

With the new ROCKtropia specific ores and enmatters I started to wonder if we need to split up the items section in the wiki and put them under the planet they are found at. Or should we have them all together and just add a category to the planet they are found or looted at.

Your thoughts please?

I just wondering how you calculate the mob hp?
I heard rumors that you can do it with some formula for one of their attributes when you scan them, is this true if so how?

Or is it as "simple" as just shoot them down to death with smaller and smaller guns?

Ubisoft today revealed the first details about Outland, a new stylish adventure-platformer from Super Stardust HD developer Housemarque coming to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in early 2011.

Here’s the official description:

“Outland puts players in the middle of a world of balance and chaos where their efforts allow them to bridge the ancient divide, or doom the world to destruction. Each player's adventure will take them between light and darkness and force them to adapt to an ever-changing world. This light versus dark core gameplay is inspired by the arcade classic Ikaruga.”
