Well. Seems about time that I get myself a blog as well. I used to have one where I posted my ramblings on EF, but that got closed a long ass time ago. However, every now and then I do miss posting about what makes me tick as a person, so this is as good a moment as any to start blogging again.
I attempted some other blogs, like a technical blog, which I do admit got a bit of attention when I released some free scripts and tips and tricks, but overall, I ended up using it too little to be of any real significance. I also attempted to do something with Dutch proverbs, but ended up tossing the towel on that soon, too.
The biggest issue starting a blog is always finding a witty and catchy title. Something people will remember and that's thus easy to find. I've been meaning to start a blog about whisky, to compliment the whisky business Lykke and myself run. The business was started two years ago, but other than myself and an ex-colleague, we're not having too many clients with it. I have a bunch of other domain names registered that point to it, and while trying to come up with a clever name for a blog, I ended up registering www.ihaveadram.com.
Now for those of you not in the whisky-know, that might require some explanation. In Scotland, which is whisky walhalla, the native tongue is Gaelic. The Gaelic term for a shot of whisky is: a dram. So there you go. I have a dram. It's absolutely perfect. It's easy to remember, it's catchy, it's a pun (a form of humour I absolutely love), and it relates to whisky.
Now all I need to figure out is how to actually get that famous MLK quote, and have "dream" replaced with dram. I'll name my blog here the same, and thus have an excuse to have a regular wee dram while I pour my soul into bits and bytes.
Sláinte!
